This was our second stay at the Metropole. Really is a 5 star hotel. As before all the staff was top notch, but I think the staff was shocked at our please and thank yous. So many of the guests didn't know how to be polite. Money doesn't mean you can be rude. Arrived via their helicopter, provided limo service for the whole stay. The staff really know how to treat people right (to bad some people don't know how to treat the staff right). IF you think it's to expensive at the Metro, don't complain about it if you stay there, you could have stayed else where, but you always get your money's worth and then some.
Decor is beautiful, warm friendly staff who know how to go the extra mile. Above and beyond expectations. After 6 days we weren't ready to go home, but we had to.
Don't forget to try the spa, you'll love it. A sit down with the Chef was very interesting and enjoyable. Foods tasted great and presentation was beautiful. Wine recommendations are right on spot with great selections and backgrounds of each wine.
The hotel puts you at ease and is very relaxing. The staff will do anything for you, just be polite when you ask. Remember, the staff are human too. The only draw back were a few of the "rich snobs" most of were young adults there on mom and dads money or new money that can't handle it.

Stated here for 2 nights in December for a pre Xmas break.
From the moment we checked in to the time we left we were treated like VIP's!

The hotel was very tastefully decorated for Christmas

Our room was a deluxe junior suite with a lovely view towards the casino and over the hotel entrance. Very comfortable beds and a spaciaous bathroom.

After we had checked into our room we had a bottle of champagne delivered which was a lovely touch!

We checked out the facilities and found ourselves in the heated salt water pool in December! The sun was shining and you would have throught it was summer! Fantastic terrace for an afternoon snack or drink.
We also had the Heat Experience, which included a sauna and steam room which was very relaxing

We only ate breakfast at the hotel and our only dissapointment was that we did not manage to have dinner!

I would definately reccomend this hotel again. Wonderful standard of service and fantastic facilities!

If you want to be treated like a rock star, stay at the Hotel Metropole. They do service with a capital "S." Also, for the best deal, book your hotel package through www.monte-carlohotels.com. You get all kinds of freebies, like admission to the private salon for the Casino. And ... the best part of all. A helicopter ride from Monaco to Nice. What a time saver and hassle-free way to get to the airport.

The hotel is located in the "golden" center. That means all high-style and first-class. The sea pool is to die for. Your towels are brought to you and if you want a drink, they will crush up some fresh mint and put in some fresh raspberries.

The hotel room is very cozy and lavish. You also get some nice tolietries and great smelling lotion. Get the breakfast included with your package. I said I only wanted red fruit in the morning to the wait staff. Voila, I had no musk melon among the bunch.

Here's the only downside ... if you're on a budget, the location is not for you. We had to take a bus to find a market to get some goodies for the room. The hotel lacks for nothing, but it's very pricey. Plan a small fortune to eat lunch and dinner.

As far as the beach scene goes, we went to St. Tropez before Monaco. We scoped out the beach scene in Monaco and it was no where near St. Tropez. The hotel takes you to the beach club and you get a mattress and umbrella for two for 32 Euro. The private beaches have you captive and it's expensive to get food or drink. Plus, there is this sea barrier and fake sand brought in. Not very authentic. In St. Tropez, there is nothing between you and the blue sea.

Hire a driver and go to the perched villages. Go to Italy and enjoy the Ventimiglia market. In Monaco, the area around the LaCondamine Market has some reasonable restaurants, it seems like that is where the local goes. Go to the market during the day and go at night for dinner.

We stayed here 2 nights and it was very expensive, excellent location, good food but too expensive, lovely pool and the best sunbeds ever!!!! I accidently left something behind and their after service was very bad until i sent several nasty emails but then spoke to a lovely guy who made up for it all.

Superb hotel with fantastic facilities but the guests were foul, apart from Lionel Ritchie who was lovely.
Full of extremely rich (often new money) who haven't quite grasped the concept of 'please and thank you'. I don't know how the staff put up with it! One arrogant woman would have quite happily had a member of the pool staff move the sun so that it shone down on her alone!! Consequently they struggle with people being 'nice' to them.
Drinks in the Casino cheaper then anywhere else.
Food at the Cafe de Paris expensive but fantastic and well worth the price - nice waiters too - We were on our honeymoon

My stay at the Hotel Metropole in Monte-Carlo was simply wonderful. My junior suite was rather large and provided city views from two terraces. It had all the modern conveniences (flat screen plasma tv, iPod sound system, Internet, etc), but still maintained a classic feel. The bottle of champagne and macaroons delivered to my room were a fun surprise! I also can't say enough about their spa, Espa. Seriously, one of the best massages that I have ever had!! Dinner at Yoshi (Joel Robuchon restaurant) was very trendy and fabulous (the black cod is a must). Overall wonderful time at the Hotel Metropole! The service and staff were exceptional at all touch points. The only disappointment was that my stay was too short. I highly recommend.

Incredibly helpful and tolerant staff. Wonderful food. Extravegantly decorated. Perfectly located. Simply the best way to pretend you are James Bond with his beautiful Eastern European lover, stealing a few precious days between assignments.
