“Beyond 6 stars except WIFI”
Reviewed 6 March 2014

It is the landmark in Montel Carlo and you pay what you get: luxury, service, address, prestige........

We drove up the hotel in our little Ford Focus rental covered in dust and dirt. The valet was non judmental and he assisted us with our luggage and check in. The hotel staff was professional and courteous. It is low season so the Courtyard Room was relatively reasonable. Our reason of staying here is to be able to retreat after a meal at the famed Louis XV.

The bedroom is very comfortable except it has no wifi. It was not possible to use our handsets and it was a little inconvenient since we were in the middle of some important business dealings (could be nice if you are trying to stay away from the rest of the world). Also there is no bath tub in the room but they do provide you with La Prarie products.
It is a convenient location to the casino but one can stay anywhere else if you are not dining on premise.
We highly recommend Bar Americain for some jazz after dinner. Great live music.

The hotel, service & food are all exceptional. There's a great vibe in the small bar with quality laid back entertainment which we thoroughly enjoyed. The breakfast was amazing in a very relaxed & beautiful setting. The restaurant with its opening roof is old time class, Great atmosphere & buzzing, the food & service were excellent. We had a deluxe king room with balcony, which was great had a fab view & was nice to sit with a glass of fizz & relax. This hotel & food etc is expensive but worth every penny, this was our 2nd visit & we plan to return this May. It's worth considering a room with a balcony as they tend to be a little bigger than the standard rooms - they can be on the small side if your staying for any length of time.

Room Tip: Consider the deluxe rooms with balcony

Absolutely perfect stay. From the cookies waiting in my room (how had they known I'd skipped lunch?) to the impeccable service, without forgetting the amazing pool and wonderful cocktails served shaken, not stirred. Huge rooms for European standards. The whole trip was like a dream.....

Stayed here for 4 nights, following a couple of nights in Nice. The room was absolutely beautiful, as LHW customers, we received an upgrade as well as some beautiful Hotel de Paris chocolates, very pleased to receive. Decor of the room is stunning, enormous, luxurious bed with superb bedding, great big windows, easily opened with shutters and exquisite blackout curtains. The bathroom was great, spacious with La Prairie toiletries, generously filled up in the morning and at turn down. I usually take a small hair towel- the ones with little buttons on, these are provided here, as well as slippers, robes etc. could not improve the room in any way. All staff were welcoming and helpful and we had an amazing stay, ate at Louis XV and highly recommend. Wi-Fi was included with our LHW card, reliable and enough to browse.

My wife and I stayed at the hotel de Paris with friends for a weekend having ate in the hotel a couple of years previously.

We booked a courtyard view, which in fact was a view of the other hotel rooms, but this was fine, as we knew what to expect.

The room was well appointed with a comfortable double bed, English TV channels, (Sky and BBC) free one-hour wi fi and a very spacious shower room.

Although willing to practice my French the staff all spoke excellent English and were all courteous, helpful and a credit to the hotel.

The position is second to none as the hotel is located adjacent to the casino (entrance is free if you are staying in the hotel) and opposite the café de Paris.

The American bar is expensive, 30 Euros for a gin and tonic, but worth it just to see the self styled crooner who inhabits the bar on Saturdays (although he may be there more regularly) He has to be seen to be believed.

All in all a great location, good staff and a good experience,
