Very good hotel, underground parking possibility just one minute from the building. For this price ideal hotel for one night stay in Monaco. The staff was pretty welcoming and provided all the information needed. The breakfast is very average.

Overall, my experience at the Ambassador was pleasant though I would rate the room in which I stayed as something between a Motel 6 and a Super 8. I'm hoping I was given the worst room in the hotel because if not, I'd hate to have seen it. The claim is that the rooms have been renovated but beside carpet and possibly some new bed linens, I would say they wasted their time. The bathroom had gray and white marble in every conceivable location and there is no shower--only a hand held spray in a bathtub. I wasn't very successful at keeping the bathroom dry. They need to add a shower curtain--a very minimum expense that would boost the hygiene experience 10-fold.

The staff is very friendly and efficient. P&P, the hotel's restaurant, is very good. I had pizza one night and lasagna the next and both were excellent for the price. Their continental breakfast fell a little flat, though.

The location is very convenient. The water front is a short distance and just 50 yards away is a tunnel that connects to the train station. Overall, I would stay here again if forced but I will try somewhere else for my next stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a higher floor. It has to be better than the one I had.

Monaco is an expensive place to stay so this hotel was ideal. Here's the advantages: Location - we arrived by train from Nice airport (18.40 euros return for two people) and found the hotel easily (walk right to the end of the platform at Monaco signposted Ville, on the travelators to the end, then turn right outside and this leads to Ave Prince Pierre. Hotel is immediately on the left).
Cost was expensive for Europe but cheap for Monaco! Easy walk downhill to the port 10 mins/ Monte Carlo area 20mins, across the road was the uphill path to the palace/ cathedral, A steeper climb (30 mins) took us to the exotic gardens. Lots of restaurants nearby (5 mins). Basic buffet breakfast. Friendly staff. Clean rooms, hot water, mini bar, comfy beds.
Negatives: Noisy in the room from the street below, aircon rather pathetic & could hear the kid crying next door.

We chose this hotel based on price..Monaco is an expensive place and most people recommend staying in nearby Nice or Cannes for better values hotels. However we would still recommend staying at least one night in Monaco. It is magical at night! After dinner and drinks at the marina, visit to the casino and a late night stroll, we were so glad to be back to a local hotel. The hotel is so so, nice clean and old style. Small room but comfortable. Included buffet breakfast was ok but a bit understaffed (food items finished and not topped up promptly). Convenient public parking just nearby with special rate for hotel guests (ask at reception). Free and fast WiFi. It's close to the palace and 15mins walk to casino. Bus to everywhere at door. Afterall, we can't fault this hotel for the price (compared to other Monte Carlo hotel price).

We were visting monaco during my birthday between 8th - 10th August.

The location was great, about ten minutes from the port and two minutes from the main train station. There were various restaurants nearby to.

However the room was too small, but clean and the biggest disappoint was the fact there was no hot water for two days!

Staff tried to help but couldn't do much.

Wouldn't recommend to stay for long stay.

Great hotel. In my opinion the best location, a short walk down to the Port and close to the train and bus stops.

The staff are very welcoming and helpful to my requests.

I will be staying here for my next visit to Monaco.

This isn't a 5-star hotel, so it doesn't have a swimming pool, valet service etc. however it does offer a great location (a few metres from the bus stop and just around the corner from the train station, plus it's within walking distance of the old town), clean rooms and value in what is an expensive location.

We stayed here for an extra night after moving out of the apartment that we had rented for the week during the grand prix. The front desk were very helpful and arranged taxis for us even on the days before we checked in.

We ate at the Italian restaurant downstairs (P&P) a couple of times before we realised that it was actually part of the hotel and can thoroughly recommend it. Breakfast, which is included in the rate, is taken in the same restaurant and is a continental buffet style with plenty of choice (cereal, bread, pastries, eggs, cold cuts, cheese, jam etc.).

The room itself was small (in keeping with this part of the world) and the twin beds were pushed next to each other (we had booked a twin, not a double). It had a juliet balcony and whilst it overlooked the main street, we were not disturbed by the outside world. The air-conditioning was quiet and free wi-fi was also available in the room.

The bits that we didn't like could be fixed quite easily. The only bin was in the bathroom, as was the only mirror (not full-length either), which is not ideal when you're sharing. The worst problem was that it was impossible to take a shower without completely flooding the bathroom. The over-bath shower was fixed far too close to the bath (so you had to hold it over your head) and there was no shower curtain/screen, so the water immediately went everywhere no matter how careful you were, creating both a mess and a real slip hazard. Reluctantly, we used the towels to try to soak up some of the water but it didn't help much. I hope that the management takes note of these issues, as we would stay here again next time we're in Monaco.
