“Everything was nice but felt a bit uncomfortable around the staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 March 2013 via mobile

This hotel has a very nice and big room with a huge king size bed.
Everything appeared clean but when I went to shower I found that it stank and had a lot of mould in it so I ended up showering in the bath.
We ordered room service and it was ok but nothing amazing. Just average.
The location was good but in hindsight I would have preferred to stay closer to the casino and shops.
For some reason I felt uncomfortable around the staff. When we checked in there were 3 ladies behind the desk (not sure why they needed that many people. One would have been enough) and I found them to be very awkward and they just didn't make me feel very comfortable.
Overall this hotel is okay but I'm not sure if it's worth the price

This hotel is immaculate. We were welcomed with friendly receptionist and helpful concierge. The hotel is in a perfect location with fantastic view of luxurious harbour and yauchts. Breakfast was of a very good standard and always served with a smile. Beds are very large and comfortable. Bathroom is luxurious with separate shower and jacuzzi bath. All staff were extremely helpful and pleasant and knowledgeable with regards to local sights and restaurants. We would most definitely stay here again. Fantastic time in Monte Carlo. Thank you.

The rooms are perfect with a fantastic view of the Yachts. All over great service. Excellent breakfast. A pity that you are not allowed any food and beverages in the rooms. Everything in Monaco is expensive but this is really good vale for money.

Room Tip: Ask for a view over the yachts.

Monte Carlo quiet and beautiful city. The hotel is small and beautiful. The location is good. Good service. A small lobby. Room is very good. The price is very expensive. Breakfast is very expensive and a very very very poor 22 euros per person. Parking is not free and very expensive 30 euros per day. Hotel needs to lower prices in low season

We stayed in Port Palace Hotel over Christmas and New Year's holiday, when many other hotels were booked out and we had some difficulties to find a room. This hotel was not our first choice, because it was rather expensive. But over all we felt extremely happy and satisfied having stayed in this amazing hotel, because it was worth the price.

The location is perfect. Not only because you get a stunning view from your room to the harbour, full of beautiful yachts, and Palace hill, but also because everything is reachable within 5-10 min walk. Besides, the hotel has a terrace and a separate exit on the 6th floor, which is the easiest and most enjoyable way to reach Monte Carlo Casino.

Our room (Deluxe Harbour View on the 5th floor) was very spacious and nicely decorated. The bathroom was well equipped, spacious and perfectly clean.

Worth mentioning is also the staff. The lady at the reception was very friendly and welcoming, and also the concierge was helpful and very friendly.

We didn't book the breakfast and instead had a very enjoyable brunch in one of those little cafes along the promenade towards the old town.

Room Tip: The higher your room is, the better view you will have over the bay.

Stayed for a couple of nights, 2 single rooms. Very nice and spacious rooms , but in mine the door didnt lock if you didnt slam it and the tv didn't go. Before goint to lunch I told the concierge that the door didn't close (so I had to leave my room open) and when I came back the door was still opened. The morning after they explained you had to slam it and the guy that explained said it like if it was obvious, same thing for the tv, in the morning the guy came and put togheter some cables, didnt excuse himself and treated me as I was stupid not to know how to switch on the tv... A t the same price go somewhere else !!

Room Tip: choose it at the 4th or 5th floor so you see the port

It is a lovely hotel in a nice area overlooking the harbour however, we booked this room for 2 nights expecting a restaurant and bar as advertised. When we checked in we were not told that they were both closed "for refurbishment" but did see a notice in the lift telling us this after we had paid for the 2 nights. There was no sign of any work being done, in fact, the restaurant was still being used for breakfast. Monte Carlo was very quiet as we visited in January, and we feel that the closure of the facilities was due to lack of occupancy. We asked to cancel our second day (we did not want any sort of compensation) but wanted to pay full price for the one night and check out the next morning as we wanted a hotel with a bar and restaurant. This was refused and we were told that we would still have to pay for the 2nd night. We were offered an upgrade on the room but as this was not the issue (the room was very nice) we declined.
