This hotel was fantastic. Had wonderful views over the harbour. Best hotel room we've ever stayed in and staff very friendly and helpful. Lovely luxury bathroom. Try to stay from level 2 above.

Can walk to most sights like the Casino and Prince's palace. Dinner in Cafe de Paris was a great experience and not too expensive, about £40 a head.

Got to drive a Ferrari 360 Modena Spider from www.livenupmonaco.com as a birthday present which was a fantastic experience. They picked me up from hotel and got to go up into the mountain which is quieter.

Would definately recommend the Port Palace hotel and Monaco for a long weekend. Doesn't have to cost a fortune as lots of nice restaurants. Would go in spring or autumn to avoid the heat and the crowds.

I stayed in this hotel in February, which is presumably the low season in Monte Carlo, and the price I paid seemed reasonable for Monte Carlo standards. I suspect the price will be considerably higher in the summer. It is a modern and stylish hotel. The position is brilliant, right opposite the harbour with great views over the mega-million dollar yachts. All the rooms have a view over the harbour. The rooms are modern and very comfortable, and the double beds are huge. The bathrooms are wall to wall marble but you need a MSc in Design & Technology to work out how the bath taps work (I won't spoil the fun by telling you). There is no parking at the hotel and on-street parking in Monte Carlo is almost impossible to find. There is a car park behind the hotel called Ostende which charges about 8 Euros for overnight parking. The restaurant on the top floor has great views and a lovely terrace when the weather allows for sitting outside but when I was there, there wasn't a soul to be seen eating there. The breakfast is served in the restaurant but was poor in quality. The scrambled eggs were very tired looking, the fresh milk was UHT and the croissants were still in the oven 20 mins after I asked for them. If you're stuck for a restaurant to go to, try Il Terrazzino for great Italian food. It is less than 15 minutes' walk from the hotel; it is in the direction of the casino. Staff in the hotel were all very friendly.

Stayed at the Port Palace for one night in September for my 40th Birthday. When we checked in the Receptionist upgraded us as it was my birthday so was really pleased. The room was huge with awesome views of all the yachts in the harbour. The hotel is really immaculate and modern with attention to details. Booked into their Mandarin Restaurant for my Birthday meal and the service was first class. The meal was beautifully presented and I must say it is the best meal I have ever had and was worth every penny. Would definately recommend booking into the restaurant if its a special occassion as the views over the harbour are outstanding. All in all would recommend this hotel as it is also in a great location.

This hotel holds itself out as a 5 star hotel. During our stay here the tub was broken and when the hotel "fixed" it another piece came off of the faucet. The shower ceiling had mold on it, as well as water running out of the shower onto the floor. There was a huge stain on the carpet in the entry way of the hotel. The TV did not receive a signal and there was no Internet service in the room from the hotel. The breakfast fruit was spoiled and the breakfast consisted of fruit and some bread items. The front desk staff was pleasant. I gave them a list of the issues on the first morning and the TV was fixed and part of the tub was re-set but then the faucet fixture fell off into the tub. Since this visit, I was in communication with the hotel and they still did not apologize for this dismal visit. I would strongly recommend to stay at one of the true 5 star hotels in Monte Carlo. I would rate this as a three star hotel or if in a clean room then a 4 star.

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. The hotel is well located for the sights of Monaco. The decor of the hotel is modern and bright. The reception staff were helpful and courteous. The room was good, spacious and clean. The negative was that the lighting wasn't great and some of it didn't work and the rest was hard to control. The bathroom was a very good size with a bath and large shower. There was a door to the toliet so it was convenient for two people to use the bathroom as once. We were on the first floor with a view out to the road in fromt of the marina. It would have been better to have a room higher up but we got a great deal wth http://monte-carlohotels.com which included breakfast and also a helicopter transfer back to the airport. The breakfast area on the roof is lovely with great views. The buffet was excellent with a really good choice. The service was a bit too rushed at times and one morning we had to wait at least 20 minutes for a coffee. The waitress was nice but she just had too many people to serve. Considering the reasonable deal we got we were very pleased with this hotel and would recommend it for a short break in Monaco.
