I chose this primarily for price reasons, and was absolutely delighted with what I got.

The location is very convenient, being just a couple of minutes from the train station and afire minute walk down to casino square.

The facilities are impressive for three star hotel. The room was a decent size, the breakfast excellent and the restaurant and bar very good. Free wifi is only available in the bar or lobby, you have to pay for it in the room.

The staff were very helpful.

No doubt there are more glamorous hotels in Monaco, but if you're on any kind of budget this is a really great choice.

We stayed in the Novotel, Monte Carlo for the first leg of our honeymoon. It was very handy for us because we came in by the train, and were able to walk to the hotel from the station without any difficulty. The hotel is fairly well situated- it is only about a 12 minute walk to the Casino, but if you want to get down to the water's edge, it's about another 10-12 minute walk. But of course, everywhere you look is so beautiful and scenic, that we didn't mind the walking at all! (Though it helps to be in half-decent shape; the walk back to the hotel is all up-hill or up stairs! And at the end of a long day of sight-seeing and walking around, it can be tough!)
The staff here were very friendly and helpful- they were able to recommend very good restaurants to us, and even helped us a bit with our French! (They encouraged our efforts to stumble through the language, and never once lost patience with us! They would even speak English to us whenever we got really stuck!)
The room was clean and very modern, with a nice (but small) bathroom. We had a street view room, but I'd say the view was still very nice, as it looks out onto so many beautiful buildings! It was kind of nice to be off the beaten track because we did not get any of the noise of the main drag where all the fancy cars are constantly parading back and forth!
The roof-top terrace is so gorgeous! The restaurant where you eat breakfast looks out onto it, and to the sea beyond. The terrace itself has a great little pool, where we did some swimming to cool down in the evenings.
We had a deal where we had our breakfast included- the quality of the food at breakfast left something to be desired, but it was nice to be able to eat as soon as you get up, and then just get on with the rest of your day. (We never did spot any little places nearby with breakfast foods/ bakery, so I guess there isn't really much of an alternative.)
Bottom line, if you want to stay right in Monte Carlo, but you don't want to pay a fortune, this is a great place, with a friendly staff, in a decent location. We would stay here again for sure!

We stayed for 3 nights for Valentine's weekend. We arrived at midday and were shown to our room immediately. We thought it was very good value for money with a good breakfast buffet.

We were pleased with our room which was exceptionally clean but could have done with more coffee & milk with having the facilities to make drinks. However when we requested some it arrived in minutes.

The hotel is within walking distance of everywhere we wanted to visit in Monte Carlo & the railway station is two minutes away.

Overall we would definitely recommend the Novotel & would stay there again.

Clean, friendly and efficient, the Novotel offers the best value in a location not known for good value. Staff are courteous and professional, the breakfast is good, there's free wifi and a computer in the reception area, and the hotel is within walking distance of many attractions - in particular, it's only a few minutes walk from the (underground) rail station.

As mentioned elsewhere on TripAdvisor, the large pillows are uncomfortable, but if they were replaced, the hotel would get a perfect rating.

The hotel is quite new (Jan 2011) and everyhting works well. Location is high up near the train station and not close to anything interesting, though Monaco is easy to get around by bus.
The room is quite bizarre. Like it was designed by several people who were unaware of what each other was doing. Our room was dominated by a king bed that was sagging everywhere, had hopeless pillows and was too big for the room. Bathroom degign was strange and there was nowhere to hang towels. The toilet was near the door yet the entry to the bathroom is off the main area near the bed. Furnushings are rather junky - like they were bought at an Ikea sale. Nothing seems to work together. There was a jug in the room (good!) yet we got 2 paper cups only - really cheap and nasty.
The service at reception was fine and at a busy time. Service in the restaurant was virtually non-existent and there weren't even salt and pepper on the tables.
The place is okay and lack of attention to detail (design, layout, furnishings, service etc) really let it down.
Recommended if the price is okay only.

Well, it's Novotel - nothing to be surprised: very clean, nice rooms. helpful staff, good breakfast, reasonable price. The only thing we didn't like was the separate WC in the room...
If you're travelling by car, the hotel has "booked for Novotel" places on the public parking (20 euro/day, as I remember). But the max. hight of the vehicle should be less then 2 meters... it'd be OK unless your car rental company didn't give you Fiat Ducato instead of the "normal" car :)

We spent one night in hotel during our 10 Day trip around France and Italy. It was a nice place to rest mid-adventure.

The hotel was in the outer part of the city, but is within walking distance of most destinations. Rooms were more spacious than most European hotels, clean and comfortable. We found a deal online for 145 a night, which made it a great value.
