We had a delicious meal in their outside seating area with a stunning view of the lake and towering Alps. I ate the local fish (forgot the name), and it was fresh and tasty. I must say that this quaint and picturesque village was a highlight of our two-week adventure in Austria, and our lunch at this wonderful restaurant topped it all off.

I ordered the steak for €30 and my darling partner ordered a fish for €26.
The steak was dry and tough (slow cooked in a sauce?) and the fish was just bland - it didn't even come with vegetables or whatever side dish.
We asked for the sweet menu at 9:45 but were told the chef had gone. They state on the menu food until 10.
The waiter was a really nice guy though from Slovakia who was very friendly and helpful hence the 2 stars otherwise it would be 1 star.
I won't be returning.

This restaurant is fancy, but not stuffy. The staff are courteous and the food is great. Breakfast was amazing on the lake!

The staff were very friendly, even when we can't speak German, and recommended several local dishes. We got a view of the lake even though we sat away from the windows. We had the Chef Recommendation of Pork Loin Cutlets with Potato Mash and a traditional Austrian Dessert of Kaiserschmarrn is a shredded pancake which was recommended by our local friends to try.

Overall service was very prompt and classy. to top of the charts, they were the same staff who managed and served the Breakfast Buffet the next morning. Breakfast had a big variety including omelettes and bacon and an Asian beef broth with noodles (linguine) Huge compliments to all the staff working that morning (2 guys)

There's a outdoor area and a quiet lounge area for drinks but weather wasn't warm enough to sit outside yet. Highly Recommended !

Judging by the looks and location this must be pretty much the best hotel in this 7,000 year old small lakeside village.
Even Empress Sissy has stayed and ate at this place.
Nothing fancy but still a lovely historical place with absolutely the most stunning view of the lake and surrounding mountains.
Service is pleasant and efficient. (some might say it is a rarity in Austria)
The Austrian whites wines have really come of age lately and are very enjoyable and you can not go wrong with the local fresh fish, be it trout or chard.
Fairly simple preparation but you feel the freshness.

Outside you will feel like you are on the set of The Sound Of The Music.
Remenber you come here for the incredible sights, you are not on a culinary expedition.
Still it can be enjoyed.
