The hotel is easy enough to get to using the tram from the train station (although you could probably get a bus more conveniently to Lendplatz if you worked it out in advance). This is a typical enough Mercure. I got a nice large room but unfortunately it was beside the gym and fitness room and the noise from it was very loud and irritating. Someone forgot to lock it at 2300 and if I had not gone down to reception about 2320 I would have had to listen to running and shouting later than I had to already. Also, the corridors reminded me of a youth hostel somewhat.

We drove here from Hungary, the hotel looks very clean and the hotel has some nice decor. The staff were very friendly and the location was perfect. We just parked our car and thats it we checked walked around the area. Its a very nice small town with lots of history and nice architecture.
The Grazer Schloßberg was good walk or climb. We checked the clock BUT it was not working! They fooled us lol :) but had a good drink. The Kunsthaus was was a very interesting looking building, we didn't go in just checked from outside. Also we checked out Murinsel Cafe in Mur River but it was still closed when we went there in the morning. That was really cool since its in the middle of the river.

Breakfast was excellent, good selection.

Room Tip: There is a pool hall at the back of the hotel so, at night it was a little bit noisy. But it didn...

I think Mercure Graz City is one of the best places you can stay in Graz.
For us it was probably one of the best hotel stays we ever had. Everything was just perfect: big and functional room, friendly staff, good breakfast, everything is new, clean and modern.
The location is also very convenient: 15 mins walk to Central Station, 10 mins walk to City Center.
We would like to thank the hotel staff for such a great visit we had.

Modern hotel downtown Graz. Close to the historical city center. Excellent breakfast. Internet free in the rooms. The staff is nice. In my opinion the level is higher than a regular Mercure Hotel. Recommended.

If we had known when we were planning the itinerary for our tour what an interesting city Graz is, and what a lovely hotel this is, we would have stayed a little longer!

After arriving in Graz, and finding the hotel, at first, we had to drive around the block three times, to try to work out how to check into this hotel, as you are unable to drive your car up to the hotel's entrance. We worked out that to check in, we, first, had to park our car in the underground carpark, which is situated in a laneway, behind the hotel. After we parked and unloaded our car, we took the lift up to reception. Here, we were greeted by an exceptionally friendly and pleasant staff member. Her name is Brigitte Vogenbeck. After we asked about what we could see and do in the short time we had in Graz, she made a number of suggestions, and marked points of interest on the map that she provided us with. In our opinion, she is perfect for the job, and a real asset to the hotel!

Our room was extremely comfortable, although we would not have liked it to have been any smaller! The bathroom was modern and clean. The view from our bedroom was not the best, as it looked out onto an adjacent jumble of rather unappealing buildings. The free WiFi worked perfectly on our iPhones, and my laptop.

After we returned from a long walk around the city's shopping centre, and a nice dinner in a nearby restaurant, we returned to our room, where I went online to purchase a vignette, to permit road travel in Hungary, where we were travelling to the next day. I called Brigitte, to ask her if she could help me out by printing out the vignette on the hotel's printer, so I could take it with me the next day, on our trip. Without hesitation, she suggested that I e-mail it to her, and told me that she would print it off, and have it waiting for me, when we went down for breakfast, the next morning.

The next morning, we headed down to breakfast. The range of hot and cold was exceptional, and the staff were friendly and attentive. We would go so far as to say that the range and the of quality of the food included in the breakfast buffet, at this hotel, was better than any of the other Accor establishments that we'd stayed in during our trip!

After breakfast, we went back to our room, packed out bags, and made our way down to reception to finalise our account. We were attended to by Judit. Once again, this staff member appeared to be a real asset to to the hotel! She was friendly and warm, and promptly handed us the vignette that Brigitte had printed off for us the night before.

We would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this hotel! It is well-positioned, only a five minute walk from the river, and a 15-minute walk to the city's main shopping street. On the morning we departed from the hotel, there was a rather large market in the square very close to the hotel. We took the opportunity to have a look around the market, before we departed. Our only regret is that we didn't have the opportunity to spend a little longer visiting Graz, and this lovely hotel!
