We just staid a couple of days in this excellent house. From our point of view and we know a lot of hotels it is one of the best skiing places in Austria - Extraordinary good food, great Service and the entire team is focused to full fill all your wishes during you stay.
For Kids they offer a lot of entertainment and for the skiing school they will be picked up directly from the hotel and brought back in the afternoon.
On top the Hotel Seekarhaus is in one of the top skiing resorts located in Austria. 20 to 30 meter from the Hotel you have to Chairlifts - it is so fantastic!!

Check my pictures too and you will just love it!

We spent there only three nights, but we wish to stay there another week. The food (breakfast and dinner ) was fantastic, specially the deserts. The staff is very professional, and the management is also looking after their guests very well. The location is excellent and the spa area is very stylish. This is a very family and child friendly hotel.

Beautiful all-inclusive hotel. Cost includes lavish breakfast, dinner, and a post-ski snack which can EASILY count for lunch, especially if you had a beer or a snack on the slopes. Access to the lifts immediately outside the hotel (i.e., walk to the ski room, take skis up an elevator, and there you are). Ski room has nice touches like heated rack to put boots on overnight, plenty of space for poles/helmets/skis, etc. Pool area has a kids pool that is perfect temp to easily hang out in for hours, whereas adult pool cooler to make sauna and steam bath nice options.

One of the best in the Alps
Located high up in isolation takes a lot to meet the expectations of modern ski tourists.
The sisters Krings does. Year after year they deliver.
We've been here many times and will gladly return.
Hope not ambition, to make the hotel even better, destroys the charm and origin.

We stayed for 7 nights (Sat-Sat) in January and had a fantastic time at the hotel. The hotel is a quick ~1 hour from Salzburg airport. On arrival we were shown to our room and given an overview of the hotel facilities (which are extensive!). The room was spacious with a huge bed and had a modern double sink/wetroom shower (hair dryer provided). There was plenty of storage space and a sofa to relax on. There was Wifi (free) and a TV with a couple of English channels.

As we were here to ski we hired boots, skis, helmets from the hotel (all renewed each season) and sorted our lift passes. The hotel kit hire was a bit pricey (390 Euro for 2 for 6 days) but our ski passes (169 Euro) were included in the stay so it balanced out. Our stay also included a half day with the hotel ski instructor as part of a group which was good fun and a chance to meet some of the other guests. Most of the guests are Austrian or German and there were not many English guests. Not an issue as far as I am concerned as everyone spoke very good English and Menus were provided every day in English. The skiing in Obertauern was lovely, wide well prepared pistes best suited for intermediates I think as not too many black runs and mostly blue/red. The hotel truly is "ski from door" with a lift taking you up to the ski lifts behind the hotel, giving you 3 lifts to choose from as you start in the morning. This was very nice and as the hotel is halfway up the mountains the start of the day was often quiet on the pistes.

Back to the hotel in the evening and you can relax with complimentary cakes and savouries in the bar and then head off to either the traditional sauna complex (no clothes) or family pool (swim suits required). Both are very clean, spacious and lovely places to relax. We also had a massage and the treatment area again was clean, peaceful and staff very attentive.

The evening meals are delicious and broadly themed each night, but you should make sure you don't eat too many cakes after skiing as there are 6 courses on offer should you choose. The soups and desserts were particularly good and the salad buffet was always very fresh and well stocked. Breakfast was the same with a huge choice of cheeses and meats and hot food should you want it.

Throughout our stay all the staff were really friendly and helpful which made the stay all the more special. I should mention Martin the ski instructor as he has huge experience on and off piste and really gave me some good advice to improve.

Yes it isn't a cheap hotel, but the quality of service and setting really set it apart and I would happily go back again.

Visited this hotel for lunch whilst skiing in Obertauren, the food and service were excellent. From the sheepskins provided for guests who wanted to sit outside to the immaculate fixtures and fittings within the hotel I wouldn't hesitate to book a room and have an extended stay, thinking of walking in the Alps this summer so this and the hotel we stayed in at Obertauren will be high on our list of places to use.

Every need was well taken care for the entire duration of our stay. Its location and proximity to the ski lifts is a plus. From the warm hospitality, daily staff service to the food quality and meal options, Das Seekarhaus has met our expectations and more. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
