“WOW, WOW, WOW!”
Reviewed 25 June 2014

This place is amazeballs. The concept is that a stellar chef from around the world spends a month long residence at Red Bull Hangar-7 Ikarus.

During my visit it was Magnus Ek, a Michelin starred chef from Stockholm. His food was crafted to perfection. I had the business lunch menu, this represented excellent value for the quality of cooking and ingredients. The smoked venison was perfection, my fish was to die for and the pudding of strawberries was the best dessert I have ever eaten. The amuse-buche and petit fours topped of a great dinning experience.

The waiting staff were attentive but not intrusive. The dinning room is just spot on and after dinner enjoy a stroll around the Red Bull aircraft and motorsport collection.

I will be back. Sat Bains is there in July - people are in for a treat.

“A must to eat in Salzburg”
Reviewed 12 May 2014 via mobile

We went for lunch and the chef was from Chile. We had 3 courses including dessert and everything was fabulous. The service was great too and they even have a butter selection to go with your bread. Every course is well prepared and presented. A very enjoyable meal.

“Excellent, But Visiting Chefs Rotate”
Reviewed 21 April 2014

My wife and I came here while Ana Ros was the visiting chef, so our review of the food will be dated by the end of April. That being said, Ana Ros's food was wonderful. Her talent and imagination were on display in each dish, bringing unique combinations of flavors together with perfect results. Apart from the food, the restaurant had excellent, if a bit formal, service and a good wine list. The waitstaff was very helpful and the atmosphere was nice and modern. The location is also interesting. It is in a Red Bull hangar that features an exhibition of planes, motorcycles, race cars, and the capsule and suit from Felix Baumgartner's record setting skydive. It is worth showing up 20 minutes early to have a look around before going upstairs for dinner. The place is also only 15-20 minutes from Salzburg.

“Outstanding”
Reviewed 8 September 2013

Just outstanding. Michelin-starred restaurant with all you might be interested in. It is located in a real hangar. The owner stoers at the same hangar, where the restaurant, pub and bar are, many of his leisure items. Formulas. Air plains, motor bikes ... All what the owner normally uses is exhibited here. Part of the space is dedicated to the art, to the young artists from all over the world. In between your menu you can go downstairs to look through instantaneous exhibition and come back to your table with an excellent food. Don't be worry to choose a meal wine accompanying. Wine selection is perfectly set. Good value for money.

“Sorry - not impressed. Bring a magnifying glass and plenty of time.”
Reviewed 2 September 2013

We have dined in many fine restaurants around the world and are prepared to wait for food to be properly prepared...but this was unacceptable. We ordered "only" 5 of 9 courses and spent 3.5 hours...and left a bit hungry. Now the issue might be that we do not drink which seemed to bother the staff -- but it also left us quite aware of the huge time between courses. The food was extraordinary and beautiful... but there should be some allowance of portion control for those choosing fewer portions (we passed on some courses not because of time or money but because we simply don't/can't eat what was offered). And this is not a complaint about the cost in absolute terms - this was not on our top ten list of most expensive meals -- but we left unsatisfied and regretted the time we spent. We came for the restaurant and not for "toys" on display - which did not move us in way, perhaps if we were fans of the displayed items we would have felt better about the experience. We can now say that we have been here and I don't think we will want to try it again.
