Stayed for 3 nights. Rosemarie was very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was buffet style and had plenty of choice. Room was comfortable and traditionally decorated.

Local bus to Salzburg centre was 10 mins walk and bus was every 10 mins.

Would definitely use again

We were in Salzburg for a wedding, and were lucky enough not to book in time to stay at one of the suggested hotels. I say this, because Haus Steiner was absolutely lovely!

The view was incredible and the B&B was lovely and homely.

We will certainly stay here the next time we are in Salzburg.

My husband, 12 year old daughter, 10 month old baby son and I had the pleasure of staying at Haus Steiner for 4 days/nights. We had the upstairs apartment with two bedrooms, a bathroom and a kitchen. We loved cooking dinners for ourselves with fresh ingredients from local grocers, however there were fantastic restaurants within walking distance as well. The breakfast room was wonderful and Ms Steiner made sure we had plenty of hot coffee. Although Haus Steiner has a small town feel, downtown Salzburg is just a few minutes drive. The views from our window were simply breathtaking!

We stayed at Haus Steiner for 3 nights at the beginning of June. The first thing that impressed us was Frau Steiner's warm greeting, kindness and helpfulness. When we entered the comfy and impeccably clean room, we were amazed by the spectacular mountain view from its balcony (see photo attached).
The food was delicious, enough to choose from - for every taste. A cup of fresh strawberries was just the icing on the cake.
Reviews on Tripadvisor didn't let us down: it was worth trying and we really look forward to staying here for a second round.

We stayed at Haus Steiner for 3 nights in mid-May. The mountain view from our spacious and comfortable room could only be described as spectacular, and the food was great. Rosemarie Steiner is gracious and helpful, and her charming chalet is immaculate. We loved the fact that Haus Steiner feels like it is out in the countryside, even though it is only an easy 15-20 minutes by bus from the old town. We took a taxi from the train station (15 Euros with tip), since we hadn't been to Salzburg before, but once we had dropped off our luggage, we traveled by bus. We don't speak German, but found that the bus was simple to use, inexpensive, and very convenient.

We would definitely recommend this b and b to anyone--for price, for comfort, for it's delightful hostess and warm atmosphere, and for location, location, location!!! -Gail C.

Room Tip: Request a room with a mountain view--the one from Haus Steiner is "postcard perfect!"

Haus Steiner is a wonderful B&B, having read the reviews on Trip Advisor I was not let down. The rooms are spacious, clean and if you have a mountain view all the better. Frau Steiner could not have been more welcoming or helpful with any questions we had. Although not in the centre of Salzburg it is easy to get to to and from. One evening we couldn't be bothered to take the bus into Salzburg but with local restaurants a 5 minute walk away it didn't matter. I will be going back!

Our train to Salzburg sped over the Alps through horizontally blowing snow. A steady rain upon our arrival sweetened the mountain air as we drove the recognizable 6km along Moosstrasse, the road to Frau Steiner’s immaculate little B&B at the edge of town (http://www.haussteiner.com/info.html).
We realized again that it isn’t simply the appeal of seeing our favorite European destinations; it is, in no small measure, the comfort of returning to a familiar setting and being welcomed warmly by our hosts.
Frau Steiner, a petite and well mannered mid-aged widow, embraced us, and led us immediately to “our” room, a tiny white and canary nest that looked out over velvet green meadows and the looming snow-covered peaks that surround Salzburg.
We were immediately returned to the personal pleasures of her “neighborhood”: brightly painted and spotlessly maintained residences, small farms with horses, sheep, chickens and pigs, cozy family style restaurants and Gusthofs, a sampling of small businesses, that form an array of gentrified semi-rural Austrian life.
Additionally, Frau Steiner provides wonderful concierge services for our stay: recommending musical performances (we attended an organ recital by University students in the stunning Dom Cathedral – Bach the way it was meant to be experienced), guiding us to many family style restaurants that are steps from our room, updating us on changes and curiosities we have about the surrounding area, and directing our day trips (the fairyland town of Hallstatt, for example).
Each morning after a Frühstück of yogurt and grains, brown toast with cheese, tea and cakes, we set out on walks in the brisk air and clearly weather. Everywhere we look we see camera-ready episodes of life revealed amidst the special Austrian order and charm.
A must-see on these daily strolls is the riding academy and family farm across the road from Haus Steiner. Here well-heeled riders train and groom magnificent dressage horses. As we quietly inspected the Pferde, resting and nibbling hay in their stalls, we came across an 8 day old, black and white Noriker, named Mercedes.
