“Best tour of salt mines salzburg”
Reviewed 8 April 2014

The salt mines tour with Panorama tours was excellent. Perfectly designed and run by an amazing tour guide. If you can request, ask for Andreas Maschek. He is an excellent tour guide, educated, widely knowledgeable and passionate about history.
We live in Europe and found this tour exceptionally good and the city of Salzburg to be the friendliest of all European cities we have visited.

“City and lakes tour”
Reviewed 4 April 2014

We first did the hour mini bus tour of the city in the morning, one has the option of choosing your time. The lakes tour starts at 2pm and takes 4 hours. The driver picks you up from your hotel 20minutes before the tour starts. We had an excellent guide,he was a good driver, did the commentary in both German and English and allowed plenty of opportunity for taking photos. The guide was cheerful and informative and I hope that you enjoy the tour as much as we did.

“Lakes and Mountains Tour”
Reviewed 22 March 2014

We did the lakes and mountains tour and I wasn't very impressed. Our guide wasn't a very good driver and was not very informative. He also tried to sell us tickets to a Mozart concert about 10 minutes into the tour which I didn't think was appropriate. Our tour was a mixture of German and English speakers and more information was given in German than English so I felt we missed out a bit.

“A great day's skiing from Salzburg courtesy of the Ski Shuttle Bus”
Reviewed 11 February 2014

My wife and I visited Salzburg for a long weekend and we fancied going for a day's skiing. It has been been 6 years since we last skied and were a bit apprehensive.

The bus service is FREE to anyone with a lift pass (obviously, you will have to buy a lift pass and pay for any ski hire). We expected it to be just a bus from Salzburg to Flachau but we were so wrong - it is a travel service! On the bus was our guide Brian who gave us all the info we needed; we paid him on the bus for our day ski pass, he provided piste maps and gave us recommendations for the best places to ski. At the resort he sorted out the passes. The bus stopped opposite the ski hire shop - it was so quick and easy.

The journey to Flachau took only one hour and Brian was a great host. He is great fun and built a great atmosphere on a bus-load of strangers.

You have to book which you can do at most hotels or at the tourist office.

Flachau is a lovely resort. It has plenty of nice, wide, reds and blues.

The ski shuttle is a great way to spend some time skiing. Some of the people on the bus were regulars who had skied two or three times in the week. Note too that you don't have to be a skier to enjoy the Ski Shuttle - if you want to just enjoy Flachau and the view from the top of the lifts then a cheaper lift pass is available.

We had a great day out. Skiing is like riding a bicycle, you never forget. By my second run my technique was about as good as it was after my last holiday all those years ago, but unfortunately my fitness and stamina wasn't quite what it should be. However, this taste of skiing has made us all the more determined to take a week's skiing next year.
