This street has so many nooks and crannies it could take hours and hours to explore. During the day it is absolutely packed with tourists. If you are not all that interested in shopping at the high-priced shops, but you would still like to enjoy Getreidegasse, I totally recommend strolling it in the evening after the shops close. Our apartment was right on this street, so every night we walked it and window shopped. It was so peaceful without the bustling tourists and those night time strolls were one of the highlights of the trip!

Great place to hang out with the variety of shopping places. You can find the good brands. You will love it. Beautiful area to visit.

Very good stores. Not so good to go with strollers, but we made it. The problem is the stores close too early, around 6 pm. And most of the stores don't open on sunday.

A busy, over-crowded street in a beautiful Austrian city, that ALL tour directors MUST take their charges to visit. The charm of the gilded, wrought iron signs and enchanting storefronts was dampened by the throngs that pushed and shoved their way to window shop while searching. for Mozart's Geburtshaus (birthplace). I can only speak for the way things were during the Christmas season.

Walking down this historic street is like going back in time. There are plenty of shops for every taste.
