We really enjoyed this historic hotel. The rooms were decent size with high ceilings. The staff was very nice and helped us book tours, get laundry done, made recommendations for food. Salzburg is a small city and easily walkable. The hotel hosts breakfast with a wide variety of choices which was great. There is no restaurant in the hotel but a number of restaurants close by. We really enjoyed the beers and sausages from the street vendors in the old town behind Mozart's house. Also really good and very local was Zum Eidelen Affen. Great local food, good service and close to the hotel. We did the Eagle's Nest half day and the Sound of music tour. Both were great.

So pleased we stayed at this Hotel. It's well situated to walk to the main town, buses but quiet to get a very good nights sleep. The reception was open 24/7 and very helpful and polite and spoke very good English. The rooms were a little old fashioned but very clean and really big, loads of space for all our shopping. The room was very warm had a fantastic shower and very comfortable beds but the pillows were very soft. The Breakfast was very nice but I think it was a bit expensive. But as a city break the Hotel was great and I would stay here again no questions. I would rather of given this hotel 3.5 but thought the rating 'Average' was not representing the hotels real values.

Room Tip: Room 118 was a very big room, great shower and on the first floor. Lovely room.

this hotel fitted the bill perfectfast highly enough. The dining roomly. It was airy, light & very clean & perfectly placed for getting around Salzburg. Our room was large & spacious with high ceilings & modern fitting. I have read reviews dissuading guests from paying for breakfast at this hotel & instead suggesting the nearby bakery. This is all well & good if you don't mind wrapping up to have a lukewarm coffee & pastry however, we cannot recommend the hotel breakfast highly enough. The dining room was lovely & spacious serving a wide variety of hot & cold food, breads & pastries with freshly squeezed juice & the best coffee ( hot & better than those we paid for in swish cafes) In addition you could breakfast at your leisure up to 10.30 urn to the buffet as often as you wanted so all in all a very good deal. The staff were very pleasant & helpful too & we wouldn't hesitate to return.

I honestly felt this hotel was awesome! The location was great, free wifi, but no, the breakfast wasn't included, but was still really good. The staff was very professional and helpful! I will be staying here again!

Room Tip: I got a room facing the city. Yes, it was noisy, but to me, was worth it to further submerge in the...

I chose this hotel for two nights because I had business in a nearby gallery. All the essentials were provided with very good quality. Location was perfect for my special purpose, but also will fit very well for any touristic activity. The room was spacious, large bathroom with big window, very clean, water temperature & pressure excellent, shower in the tub, the bed a bit soft for my taste, flatscreen TV, many channels.

The only available room was right next to the elevators which I usually dislike. But: historic building, obviously thick walls, no problem at all. In fact there was very little noise, except for the traffic when you open the windows. Breakfast was not included, I didn't try it. There are many cafes or bakeries right nearby where you can start your day in a pleasant and inexpensive way. So for accommodation you get what you looking for. What I found missing was soul. The hotel was fully occupied. I hardly saw anybody else on the corridors or the small lounge. The staff was polite and helpful, but you always felt as a paying consumer of service rather than a guest.

Car park is provided very close (3 min. walk) in a public garage. On check out ask for a special ticket, which will limit the charge to 15€ / 24h (as of Nov. 2013). Have some cash ready, my Maestro card worked everywhere - except at the machine at Mirabellgarage. If you decide to park on the surface lot, be careful about market days (Thursday, I think) or other restrictions. Your car might be towed.

For business I would go there again any time. To feel "as part of the family" there probably are other places to be preferred.

We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel, especially as one of our rooms was upgraded for free to a Junior Suite, although the normal double room was spacious and comfortable anyway. The guests' lounge was a nice, quiet little spot to sit and enjoy a free soft drink in. The staff were excellent, very polite and friendly. The location is perfect: walking distance from the old town with its many things to see, just across from the beautiful Mirabell gardens and round the corner from the meeting place for Panorama tours. The only downside is the overpriced breakfast which we didn't opt for, but we enjoyed the cafe just on the corner or the same block which offered good variety for continental breakfast at a much better rate.

The hotel is located in within walking distance to Mirabell Garden, Marrionette theatre, Old Salzburg and Mozart Wohnhaus. It has lounge that serves free coffee, tea and soft drinks from 11 am onwards. Very convinient for budget traveller. The single room that I booked was nice and comfy albeit a bit small. It's clean and has all the necessities that I need.
Whilst the breakfast was good with variety of selection, having to pay 15 euro where there is a bakery right next to the hotel that offers 8 Euro for big breakfast, makes it a bit too expensive.
