“Comfortable and friendly”
Reviewed 13 August 2014

Stayed here for four nights at start of August. Although on the same size of town as the train station, it is about a 15 minute walk to the hotel. However, on leaving, we took a local bus from close to the front of the hotel back to the train station and this worked better. It is also about a 15 minute walk to the bridge over to the old town, most of which is through a pedestrian zone. There is a Spar store nearby which is useful for buying water and snacks, but it does close early - around 7pm.

Our room was spacious and comfortable. The fan provided was effective at keeping the room cool, as were the window blinds. Wi-fi generally worked well. The bathroom was spacious, but the shower seal wasn't great and led to a wet bathroom floor.

Staff were very pleasant and we were given a map and help with getting to the centre of town when we arrived, as well as tips about what was going on in the Festival & brochures for day-trips. The hotel also provides umbrellas for use against the heavy showers.

We didn't have breakfast as our room rate didn't include it, so we decided to go into town, rather than pay €12 each. It is easy to find places to have breakfast nearby.

All-in-all, a pleasant stay. It's just a shame that it wasn't a bit closer to the old town.

More like a bed and breakfast, this hotel is small and simple but meets the basic needs. For 145 Euros, plus 30 Euros for an extra child bed, we stayed in a "triple room" for a total of 175 Euros/night.

We were very pleased with the staff's top notch service and attentiveness. Rene and the other gentleman at the front desk were always gracious and greeted us warmly. It rained both days we were in Salzburg. Rene always reminded us to grab an umbrella as we headed out in the morning (very helpful!). When we didn't feel like braving the rain one night, he suggested we order dinner to the room. He phoned in our order and a scrumptious meal was delivered promptly to the hotel. My daughter had her 10th birthday during our stay, and when requested, the management kindly ordered a beautiful cake so we could celebrate in our room.

Breakfast was a nice assortment of mostly cold items but elegantly prepared and presented. The coffee was WONDERFUL. I could drink it all day long!

Location is in the outer part of Old Town, but walking distance to most everything. Rooms were average and could use some refreshing. Overall a comfortable and happy stay at Hotel Mozart. Due to its name, it could use a piano in the lobby area, but they did give us a lovely Mozart Holiday CD upon our departure. We will always have fond memories of this hotel and its staff.

Room Tip: My free wi-fi code didn't work for me, but could have been my device.

Quaint themed hotel.
Easy Taxi ride to the hotel from the train station.
Nice rooms - typical eurpoean sized, clean, appointed as expected. Poor wifi in rooms - but excellent in the lounge adjoining the lobby. Breakfast while basic was adequate. It was approx 5 minutes from town, no problem for us but some may find it just removed from the action. It's a 10 - 12 minute walk into the old town. Staff were great , knowlegable and attentive.
Strongly suggest using the "hop on hop off" bus down by Mirrabelle gardens in the 'New Town' to get a feel for the layout and then you have the option of doing everything if time is on your side or just the bits you really want ot see if pushed for time. Would strongly suggest taking the 150 Bus to St Gillgen situated in the gorgeous Lakes District.

Room Tip: Higher floors at the back of the hotel are really quiet.

We stayed here during the festival so maybe the prices were on the high side, but I did find €145 a night for a small double room expensive for what we got. The location is just that little too far from town to put you off from popping back during the day. The rooms are basic, no a/c and very small. There is no bar either. The Service was good and the rooms were clean, but the basic rooms, distance from the centre of town and the price puts me off from returning or recommending.

We drove to Salzburg for literally 24 hours on our European tour - this hotel was situated in a quiet and pretty neighbourhood just at the beginning of the New Town and a 5 minute walk from the beautiful Mirabel gardens - river, old Town all within easy walking distance. Hotel had parking space which was perfect for us and we took two rooms to accommodate our family of 5. Rooms were clean - bathrooms looked new - great price!! Breakfast was also very good. Hotel staff were helpful and courteous. Would recommend for budget travel and easy access to all the beauty of Salzburg. Bruno even gave us a Mozart CD as a parting gift which we listened to on our drive to Prague. Thanks Bruno.

The Hotel Mozart is in a relatively quiet neighborhood in Salzburg. It is necessary to catch a bus from the train station to access the hotel if you are traveling with any luggage. The bus stop is directly across from the hotel and is a bout a 10 minute ride from the station. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room we had was very nice, quiet and comfortable with internet access. It is a 5 minute walk to the main shopping and restaurant street and about a 15 minute walk to the other side of the river where most of the Salzburg attractions are located. The hotel allows you to escape the noise and tour buses after a day of sightseeing and there are plenty of restaurants including a brewery within a short walk from the hotel.. The included breakfast was fairly standard for European hotels including cold cuts, cheese, fruit etc.

Room Tip: Our room was on one of the higher floors in the hotel and was perhaps quieter than the rooms on the...

Friendly, helpful staff, great location in beautiful quiet residential area within walking distance to Old Town and shopping. Fantastic italian restaurant around the corner with homemade pastas, Pasta E Vino, must go! Be sure to ask for anti pasta. Room nice size, very clean, breakfast wonderful buffet with fresh fruit, homemade breads, etc. Had a great view of mountains.

Room Tip: We were on 4th floor 403, great views.
