“Couldn't be happier......”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

From the minute I entered the hotel I was impressed. Was in Salzburg for four nights to attend some concerts as part of the festival. Front desk staff were brilliant. Checked me in quickly and gave me all the info I needed and basically told me that if they could do it for me they would.

The room was sizeable as was the bathroom and shower. Even though it faced the street the windows were all but soundproof so sleeping is not a problem. The breakfast buffet was huge. Something for everyone.

The garden is a beautiful spot to relax on a sunny day with a drink. The wifi is very powerful and worked well. For a quiet night in they have DVDs you can borrow for free. All rooms have a DVD/Blue Ray player.

It's about ten minutes walk to the old town, fifteen to the Festival hall. But it's a lovely walk the second part of it pedestrianized and the view as you cross the river is amazing.

I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. They couldn't do enough for you and if you don't mind a short walk to the old town you won't be disappointed

We stayed in Salzburg for one night and were happy with the quiet location of the hotel, although that meant that it was about a 15 or so minute walk to city center. It was an easy walk, though, and it's always nice to walk through a new city. The hotel was also easily walkable from the main train station. The hotel was clean and well kept. The staff were helpful. The hotel has a beautiful garden, where you can sit or have your breakfast, and the included breakfast spread was hearty. The hotel also has a rooftop spa/sauna that seemed like a great space for relaxation. The hotel was situated very near the Mirabell Palace and Gardens, just a short walk away, and the gardens there are definitely worth the visit. Plus, we also went to a classical music concert at the palace that was fantastic and was an easy walk to and from the hotel. The only downside to the hotel is that there is no air conditioning in the rooms. There is a floor fan, but we were there on a hot day, so the room was a bit warm at night. The windows could be opened, but we were facing the street and were concerned about street noise in the morning. This hotel definitely met our needs for our quick trip to Salzburg.

The Hotel Auersperg was suggested to us by UK friends who stayed there last year. I had booked a hotel in the old town but cancelled after the recommendation. We were not disappointed.

The staff are extremely helpful and pleasant and the hotel itself is beautiful and stylish inside and out. The hotel is in a very good location within a short walk of the city centre. I could not fault it at all. Breakfast was superb with an array of home made jams and everything imaginable. The outside seating is a delight. If you are visiting Salzburg then you should go there. Its great.

Location : a somewhat debated topic in some reviews. The hotel is some 15 mn walking distance from the old town. This being said, it is less than 5 mn from the pedestrian area, 10 mn from Mirabel, and the city is not exactly huge. We did not find this to be an issue at all. Add to that that you can park at the hotel, and that it's eerily quiet, we wouldn't go somewhere else on account of distance.

Rooms : ours was a decent size (more than fine for the 3 of us), nice and functional, nothing fancy though. Beeing on the garden was pleasant and totally quiet. There was no air conditioning, but they provided a fan.

Staff : friendly and helpful. There is a PC+printer easily available that was useful to print boarding pass etc...

Breakfast : just great. Abundant and varied food. Sitting outside on the shaded terrace by the garden is soooo nice.

We didn't really get to use the bar.

The hotel is evidently child friendly with a play area - and the small garden.

We visited this summer for four nights. The accommodations are lovely and the staff friendly and eager to please. It is very close to the center city, where good shopping and great restaurants await. The staff speaks both German and English.

Room Tip: The villa section of the hotel has air conditioning, and if you travel in July or august I recommend...

We stayed here just one night en route from Prague to Innsbruck. The decor is very tasteful - a pleasing and very contemporary combo of modern, art-deco and traditional. Room was clean and the breakfast was excellent. Love the ambience of the bar and breakfast area. Free parking and bikes for rent. Front-desk service was friendly, if not a bit laissez-faire. Location is ok, though it is a bit of a walk to the old town (10-15 minutes).

We really loved this boutique hotel. There is a sense of calm from the moment you enter. We loved the casual and relaxed atmosphere. We went with the basic type room. It is on the small side, but has everything you need. Queen size bed, small desk, a chair for reading. The view from our room was of the lovely courtyard, which we felt was one of the best features of the hotel. We also used the onsite cafe for lunch and once for a late night dinner. The menu is not extensive, but everything is very fresh. We loved the daily breakfast. Everything was local produce and an assortment of freshly squeezed juices. They will also make eggs upon request. They also arrange for spa services. I had a massage while there and it was quite comforting after a long day of sight seeing. The location is also great. Far enough from all the craziness of Old Town but only a 7-10 minute walk. We would stay here again for sure and highly recommend.
