Very charming, quaint, homey, comfortable inn. Yes, it is old and yes, the ac did not seem to work but that did not bother us. Our guide books warned us not to trust hotel recommendations in this area, but we did not find this to be the case at this quiet, lovely spot in a great location within blocks of the train station. We booked a Sound of Music tour at the front desk that was so entertaining that my husband enjoyed it after expecting to merely tolerate it for my daughter and I. The breakfast was fine, parking convenient. I loved the large windows in the room, too.

Stopped at this hotel for 4 superb nights and feel so very lucky that I booked it. From the moment we walked in the friendly atmosphere appeared to be there in abundance. Lynda, the owner greeted us as if we were regular visitors. She was always there to help us plan our day enabling us to get the very best out of each one. She explained all about the Salzberg pass and how we would be saving money to purchase one, truth is she was totally correct within a day we had more than our money's worth. Room was large, homely and well equipped. Hair dryer and toiletries were to be found in the bathroom. Breakfast was a big. Under style and I defy anybody who would say they could not have a good breakfast with the food on show. Lynda was there with a map to help us find destinations for our grandaughter's concerts, reason for being in Salzberg. All in all if you want to go to a faceless chain hotel then don't go here. This is a family hotel and the family extend their friendliness, hospitality and knowledge to their guests. Thank you Lynda and family.

5 mins from the station - my 12 yr old son could find it. 20 mins from old town @ a walk along the lake - really beautiful. Quiet locality. Convenience store 5 mins away. The owners were extremely helpful always providing advise on places to etc. Would highly recommend! Our best stay compared to other hotels in interlaken, lucerne and Innsbruck.

The hotel room is closed to the Salzburg railway station. With walking distance you could reach the hotel. Room is clean and shining, nice deco with wall paper and have enough space.

The hotel staff is friendly and helpful, they were patiently replied my question, and provide me some suggestion. Therefore I got a half day tour arrange by them.

Breakfast is ok. The hotel is close to center of the city by walk.

The hotel is old. And you can see it. If you prefer a modern hotel, don't go here.
But if it's old, it doesn't mean it is bad. We really enjoyed our stay here.
The staff was simply amazing. Very helpful, always ready to make your stay better and very friendly.
The room was clean and nice.
The breakfast was OK. Not too varied, but it was enough. The decoration of the restaurant is amazing. There is a room where you can stay and watch TV, read a book, or simply drink something (they have something called "Happy Hour" where between 5pm and 7pm almost every drink is 2 euro, except wines and chapagne).
Wi-Fi was free and it had good signal. Not the best speed though.
Free parking.
It's pretty close to the center of the city.

This is a charming hotel near Salzburg train station. The staff were very friendly and really made us feel welcome. The breakfast was very good.
Our only slight criticism was that the air-conditioning was not working. Be careful about going there during very hot weather.

We had a great stay at the Hohenstauffen Hotel. The hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming. They had several wonderful suggestions to help us get the real Salzburg experience (some of which you would not find mentioned in a travel guide for the city). There is easy access (~10 min) to the old city center via a beautiful walking path along the river. After seeing the sights we relaxed in the Baroque style lounge, where we met the owner of the hotel. While in the lounge, don't miss out on looking through the hotel guest book. The next morning we woke up and had a delicious breakfast. This hotel is charming, welcoming, and in a good location. We would definitely go back!
