After our holiday in Slovenia we decided to visit the splendid city of Salzburg for two days on our way back home. We had a very nice reception from the staff member. As we were travelling with our almost 2-year old daughter, this receptionist said she would arrange a baby cot. I told her that was not nessecary, because we had one in our car but she informed us it was free of charge. The room was fine and were were advised that we could have coffee or tea anytime we liked. So, we really felt we had made the right choice for a hotel - although the rate was pretty steep. However, the next day we encountered an other staff member, who, when we politely asked for a cup of coffee, responded that this was not a 'coffeehouse'. We were shocked by this response, so I told him that the day before we heard about a different policy. Upon that, he started complaining about his colleague. The rest of the day he gave us disturbing, cynical looks. We felt most unwelcome. The next morning, when we were checking out, we were charged for the baby cot after all - by yet another staff member. After a very unpleasant and heated argument, I was finally 'allowed' to leave without paying for this extra service. Conclusion: great city, good location, fine room, but terrible treatment. If you value hospitality and service, don't go here. I'm a frequent business traveller and I genuinely never had a similar experience.
