“Feeling Adventurous Around Salzburg”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 June 2014

Excellent view of Salzburg from the top of the Untersberg. Not too expensive if you are taking the cable car (or try walking up and down the trails if you want the exercise and have a couple hours). If you are afraid of heights, you might want to pass this up, but it is well worth it.

“Stunning Views”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 June 2014

This attraction is easy to get to on the bus from old town. Its expensive but if you have a Salzburg card (which by the way is worth every cent because 95% of the attractions here are free with it including public transportation) it will not cost you anything. We chose a beautiful day so the view was breathtaking. The ride up is quite spectacular but surprisingly smooth and not at all frightening except for the very last bit which looks like you are running into a rock wall! There is a cafe on top so you can enjoy a cuppa or a glass of wine and a snack. I would definitely recommend this excursion on a bright clear day.

“On top of the world”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 June 2014

Amazing ride in cable car though a little crowded. On reaching the top I felt some anxiety at the height but had a coffee and felt more relaxed. Managed to walk to the Snow and made a little snowman. Took lots of photographs as weather was sunny and view was clear. Need to wear good walking boots as it can be slippery

“Favorite activity with the Salzburg card”

Amazing views at the top. It was fun to see snow on a 75 degree day at the base of the mountain. You can hike around a bit more once you are the top of the mountain.

“Worth going!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 May 2014

Every traveller would like to 'see' the cities they visit from a altitude! Utersburg is the location you want!
It's not far from city centre of Salisburg (a bus trip of 20 minutes?). The 'almost straight up' cable car is fascinating! The hiking trail on the top and routes around are of various length and difficulties. You can see Salisburg from there!
I went there last summer. It was cold in the morning and then hot at noon. It was quite rocky and thus not slippery. We stayed there for a long time watching the crows eating.
With a Salisburg Card, the cable car is FREE.
