Christine was very curt with her replies and extremely unaccommodating with additional changes to plans (we decided to not go for the tour and she heaved this heavy sigh as though it was a huge deal). Location- it's location 1 train stop away from town but trains come once an hour, and the area was also poorly lit so when we took the bus back in the evening, we had a terrible time finding our way back (salzburg weather is also very foggy). Breakfast: mediocre at best. i expected more from a b&b- stingy portions, cheap ingredients. and no wifi...

the ONLY plus point is the amazing view from the balcony but i'm sure no one plans on staying in their room the entire day admiring the view so overall please don't stay here!!

We arrived at this place tired but looking forward to an enjoyable holiday. Her greetings were the first signs of unfriendly host. True to it, over and over again her answers to our enquiries were inaccurate and impatient. Location was bad, uphill inconvenient. We had to share the toilet which has no toiletries for individual guest. Room was not very clean, including the cups n kettle. Breakfast is cheap. No wifi. To me it's to make the most profit. My worst experience.

We really loved our stay at Haus Christine. We found that Christine was incredibly helpful and accommodating. The view over the mountains at breakfast is stunning, and we had no problems getting to and from Haus Christine from central Salzburg - it's only a 4 minute train journey and then a short uphill (and scenic) walk! The rooms are very spacious, comfy and clean - if you want somewhere simple and fantastic value for money, I would recommend Haus Christine whole heartedly!

The previous reviews made me nervous to book a couple of days at Haus Christine, but these nerves were soon gone as soon as we put our bags down.
I stayed for two nights with my boyfriend, and we had absolutely no problems. True, it is a little out of town, but it was a nice change, from our usual "staying in cities". There are amazing views of the Austrian Alps from the house, especially from the breakfast table and front lawn!
Breakfast was simple, bread and spreads, with some cold meat and cheese. This was hardly a disappointment, as we were in her home, and cannot expect the works!

You do walk up a hill to get to the hostel, and yes it's a hassle with luggage, but you obviously only carry them uphill once!!
And you don't book a room with the intention of staying in it all day, so for us, who were wanting to see this foreign land, it was perfect!

The place has a great view, a bit out of town however ( a bus trip 20min and then a good 15min fast walk to get home) The place is clean, quite and effective for a nights stay. Breakfast was average. Agreed that the landlord is not very helpful and sticks to her self mostly dont expect anything but what you pay for...a room. (I asked for a cup of tea as there are no facilites and got a cup of HOT WATER as she couldnt spare 1 tea bag!... hahaa)
This is a ok place , we didnt come to Salzburg to stay in our rooms and hang out with the landlord so it was fine for us.... Clean, and quite.

This woman has issues. Clearly not a place for young people as Christine the owner doesn't know how to cope. When we arrived she was friendly enough, however throughout our stay it was revealed how crazy she is. She overreacted when we didn't have breakfast the first morning as we had little time and would have missed the bus. The next morning we hadn't specified whether we wanted breakfast and she still "made it" (heated up bread rolls and put out spread) then had another go at us when she walked into our room at 11.30am. There was no information about Salzburg and its surrounds plus the location was inconvenient but the view was amazing. We were not told that she would be unlocking our door to come in and make our beds, move our valuable belongings around and invade our privacy. She overreacted again to a tiny makeup mark on the wall and insisted on us paying 5Euros to paint the wall when it was easily removed with wipes.

Basically, from my personal opinion and drawing on the other people's experiences this place has a farm.. and it's FAR from calm.

Oh... and she needs to get over the "new woodstair".
Peace out.
