“Excellent value in the centre of the city”
Reviewed 31 March 2014

A real treat to stay in this historic building with atmosphere right in the centre of Salzburg. It is fairly basic, but spotlessly clean, great value and all you need really for a stay in the centre of a city with so much to see. Very friendly and helpful receptionist and good breakfasts.

Room Tip: Even my single room was spacious.

this is as nice as people said, and indeed, i have paid money to stay in retreats like this, my only drawback is that there is no wifi, they provide a cable, but my computer doesnt use cable, they did offer a modem, but it didnt work either. Normally this might not be so bad, to be quieted away, but I did have things going on at home, and with the time difference, this required me to connect late in the evening. The staff are pleasant and try hard to meet your needs, although not all including desk person, speak fluent English. The place is immaculate, handy, and a good price. i enjoyed the pared-down breakfast after a previous week of heavier buffets.

Room Tip: i thought that being at the back would be quieter than the street, but they all seem to be along the...

This establishment was an old Monastery which had only just been refurbished. As a family of 4, we needed 2 rooms, with the facilities basic in reflection of the facilty, but there was a TV room and internet access, but no TV, colck, fridge etc in your room. The location is perfect, with the Old Town to the left and the Mirabell Garden to the right. The breakfast was very nice in a lovely location with small rooms used and the cervice for checkin and checkout outstanding. Highly recommend staying here.

The location is very good. Very near Mirabell Garden, Palace and Mozart's Residence. With high ceiling, the room is very spacious. In addition, it's very clean. I booked the single room with WC and shower room. The environment in the guest house is good. Quiet and clam. There's no TV in the room but it gives me time to be with myself when I'm in the room. If you bring your laptop, u can get the cable and browse the Internet. The TV, the computer, living room, beverage as well as laundry room are available on the second floor. As this is the non-smoking guest house so I'm really happy with this. The staff at the reception are very friendly when i do the check-in and check-out. The breakfast is included in the room rate. The limited range of breakfast is very healthy, clean and delicious! The staff in the breakfast room have high hospitality. In general, excellent stay in Salzburg!

A lovely experience staying in an old Priest seminary. Very spacious rooms and the common areas has a TV and kitchen you can use (no TVS in the rooms, in a way this is good as you aren't disturbed by loud TV noise). The kitchen is great for a night of self catering if the schnitzel is getting too much in the restaurants. There is a church is in the middle of the complex. One evening I came back to organ practise and discovered through the guest chapel you can enter a balcony that overlooks the alter. It felt rather special to have this view.
Breakfast was fine, typical Austrian fare with wholesome bread and tasty jams. The soft/hard boiled egg was a good addition to the usual cheese and meats.
A good location about a 20min walk from the train station, right by the Mirabella gardens and across the river from the other sights.
My only complaint is that I was woken on my last morning by possibly a cleaner banging on the door and trying to get in. It was very odd and disconcerting, but as it was 8:30 and I had to check out at 10:00 it wasn’t too much of an inconvenience. Perhaps they should however invest in do not disturb tags for the doors…

The hotel is actually located at the monastery, in central Salzburg (old town, next to the Mozart museum and all transportation). Easy connection to train station. It was renovated only a couple years ago - with modern rooms and glass elevator. Rooms are pretty big by European standards, and ceilings and windows are huge. Rooms are simply decorated, but have all the necessities and are quiet. I felt very safe there - there was only one massive door to enter the building, which also had a nice square monastery yard with garden and sculptures. Breakfast was so-so - I suggest not to pay extra for it but get something from the market which is nearby. The place also has a launderette. It was a good stay, and I recommend the hotel.

I stayed here for two nights when I was in Salzburg for work. The place is very new; I had a room at the back, so it was very quiet. Breakfast is very nice, and the staff were quite friendly. The atmosphere is of course not like a normal hotel; you feel you have to be quiet since there are priests walking around.
The rooms were mostly clean, although the waste bins had not been emptied, so I was looking at the rubbish of previous guests, and the carpets had some hairs in them.
There is unfortunately no wifi and the computer they provide in the common room is so slow that it's hardly useable. Also there is no free tea and coffee in the kitchen, unlike most hotels.
