“Wonderful Hotel”
Reviewed 6 July 2013

The family are very welcoming and friendly. Nothing is to much trouble. English is spoken well if you require. The rooms are just perfect. We had a hire car and there is no problem with parking. The food served at breakfast has lots of choice and dinner if you desire is of good quality and not overpriced. We had such a good stay that we have already booked for next year. Enough said.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Bloberger Hof. The hotel is family-run and offers friendly and superb service. It is a quick ride into Salzberg center via car or taxi ( we did not try the bus) but also is ideally located to explore the stunning surroundings...the Untersberg,Berchtesgarten,Mondsee,Hanger 7 etc.
Our room was immaculate, charmingly decorated and very comfortable with lovely linens, pillows and extra blankets. It was quite large with abundant storage space,a seating area and balcony. All comforts were supplied...WiFi,toiletries,hairdryer etc. Drapes offered a dark room at night. The bathroom was fine...large,comfortable and pristine...but could benefit perhaps with a bit of update. No matter how we tried, the shower leaked through the doors ( actually quite common in our European travels).
The working radiators allowed us to both stay warm and dry our constantly wet clothes since it was cold and rained non-stop during our stay....which was amazing nonetheless.
The hosts of this hotel are exemplarary...friendly,very knowledgable and available to assisit in every need.
Served in a delightful room, the breakfast offered abundant choices of cheese, breads, fruit etc. Eggs were made to order and coffee plentiful.
We had dinner in the hotel twice...a lovely experience. The room ( same as for breakfast) is cosy, the staff superb and the food excellent.
The lift and readily available parking made our stay even easier.
We highly recommend this hotel and look forward to another visit.

We stayed in a superior room, number 18, this was based on two floors, the lower floor a living room, with sofa, two upright chairs, desk, coffee table, sideboard containing fridge/mini bar and safe. Also wardrobe, mirror coat hooks, large TV and door to small private balcony.
An open wooden staircase led to the bedroom area in the eaves, a large, light airy room with several windows, Austrian style bed, cane chair, more coat hooks, a second TV. There was also a portable fan, luckily, for the heat wave Austria was having at the time. I think speaking to other people staying at the hotel, that all of the rooms had them.
The large ensuite contained loo, sink area, mirrors, hairdryer, extractor fan, velux window.

A fairly good nights sleep, except for the heat and very quiet at night, occasionally I was disturbed early in the morning with maybe a member of staff arriving to prepare breakfast - you can hear cars arriving on the gravel - but I am a light sleeper.

I was very impressed, the room was much nicer than the photos depicted on the various websites I had viewed.

We ate at the hotel on the first night, the food was very good, everyone had to eat outside because the dining room was closed and we both had a few mosquito bites. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed for the following two evenings. Breakfast was good. maybe not so much cooked choice for people who like an English breakfast, but otherwise, something for everyone.

As has been said before, it seems to be very much family run, they seemed to be a little stressed while we were there, I think the hotel was full and there was a staff wedding or something.

The only niggles were that while it was so hot, air con would have been welcome in the bedrooms, and the complimentary shower gel etc.. wasn't replenished while we were there, no big deal for us as we had our own.

We had our car with us, but used the buses which were frequent and on time. We bought Salzburg cards for the convenience of not having to fiddle with money.

In all a pleasant stay, we would book again if we go back to Salzburg.

Picked this place based on TA reviews and Bloberger hof did not disappoint. Family run like many of these places means hospitable and friendly service. Free wifi with router on every floor, but 2nd story was not working during our size. Best thing for us was the 5 beds in our room with separate bedroom for the parents w/ balcony. Nice outside sitting area on ground floor which got us out of the room in the evening. Breakfast was a little limited on the offering but they made eggs to order. Kids loved theirs scrambled.

We loved this place! Salzburg was accessible by bus number 21 nearly across the street. We had a car, so we drove to the heart of the city. The Bloberger Hof was great to come back to after a day of sightseeing, Charming, quiet, clean and they served a breakfast complete with cooked to order eggs!

It was so comfy and the whole family ownership took great pains to meet your every need. Sylvia picked us up from the airport and never stopped helping us with everything else.
Could not get computer off of German. We are from the US and it restricted what we could do on it.
You were treated by the family like an old friend always. Free breakfast was terrific with many choices and the area was beautifully attired. Evening dinners were reasonably priced and always served with great selection of bread and rolls. You get a friendly feeling thoughout the whole hotel. It is imacculate throughout. The view from our room was different every morning and evening with the fog covers, parts of the Alps peeking thru all over and the glimpse of snow at the top. Easy access to the bus and it was always on time. Arranged for Bob's tour which was great to pick us up from the hotel. For our money and taste hould be rated #1 in Salzburg for overall value and the great feeling you got from the way you treated. Sylvia is terrific.

Room Tip: Make sure you try their food. It was wonderful and the morning breakfast was free with your choice...

We stayed two nights at this 3* hotel located close to the Motorway and Airport at the South of Salzburg. The hotel was easy to find, there was plenty of parking, and we were warmly welcomed. We had a nice spacious room with good facilities. A room with a balcony was not available so the hotel reduced the charge immediately without any request from us. The restaurant was not open for dinner on the nights that we stayed, but the breakfast (included) was good both in terms of quality and service.

The hotel is on a bus route (18 minutes) to the centre of Salzburg with a 15 minute regularity service most of the time. The bus is free with the Salzburger Card.

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony
