Hotel-Pension Bloberger Hof
Ranked #2 of 132 Hotels in Salzburg
Certificate of Excellence

We stayed for three nights during our visit to Salzburg. It was an easy bus ride from the centre of town, and we found the hotel quite easily. Our hosts Inge and Sylvia were very friendly and helpful. Our cat B room was spacious and the decor was tasteful. The service was fantastic and the breakfasts were very tasty, offering a great variety. Definitely deserves its number 1 spot in Tripadvisor!

We stayed at the Bloberger Hof for four nights in August. The accommodations we wonderful. The building and rooms were well cared for, very clean and modern. Our host Inga and her daughter Sylvia were friendly and attentive. As mentioned in other reviews the Bloberger Hof is outside the city of Salzburg. The bus stop about 100 yards from the hotel and the bus runs frequently. If you're someone that likes to come back to the hotel during the day this could be inconvenient as the ride is about 30 minutes one way. If you looking for an off the beaten path thoroughly Austrian experience the Bloberger hof should be considered. The cost was 95 euros a night for a double we received a 10% discount by paying cash. The breakfast can't be beat--meats, cheese, cereal, juice, breads, fruit and Inga will make you eggs to order. Ask for a room in the back of the building, ours was in the front facing the street and was loud whenever cars, scooters or farm equipment travelled down the cobbled street. The restaurant serves meals 6 nights a week (closed Sunday) the food was excellent and the prices was very reasonable. I would stay at the Bloberger hof again, but would also like to try a hotel in town, as there is nothing to do around the hotel.

Stayed in their class A room which was a suite with a kitchen which was reasonably priced. The included breakfast was a buffet of rolls, yogurt, fruit, cheese, sliced meats, and eggs prepared to your request. Very quaint...even had a rooster to wake you up. Located about 15 minutes from central Salzburg. No air conditioning. I don’t recommend their laundry service. They washed and dried everything, ironed nothing and shrank 2 of my husband's slacks.

This is a very nice Hotel approx 5km from Salzburg centre but as the public transport is so good this is not an issue.
Stayed for 4 nights in a cat b room. Room itself was very good, very clean comfortable bed. En Suite shower/wc also fine. Superb views of the Untersberg too. There was some noise from a road that ran by the side of the hotel but not too bad
Breakfast very good , we eat 2x in evenings and again very good. Menu not that extensive but what we had was good quality and reasonable price.
The best thing about the hotel was Inge and Sylvia (mother and daughter) who were very helpful and always cheerful

Well, where to start? You've seen it all below. No need to rehash. The dinners are fab, and very reasonable. Vast bedroom with bags of power points. Wall mounted flat screen TV swivels so is visible wherever you are. My wife says, "It's the best furniture we've ever had in a hotel." Huge closet (cupboard) with tons of storage.

Very helpful mother and daughter. Bus close and frequent. More parking than needed, and well drained and easy to use. Easy to find.

€95 for all this and a fantastic breakfast? Yup. OK, so what's wrong? Too good to be true? Nope. It really IS that good. I don't know how they do it.

Any niggles? A couple of teeny tiny ones. The bath is wonderful, the shower can get the whole bathroom wet if you are not careful. The towels are great - lovely and fluffy like you might have at home. Make sure that you use the provided plug in bug thing because there are little flying critters when the windows are open. No air conditioning but we didn't need it in mid August as long as we had windows open. A little airplane noise around 7:30 most mornings, but no jets. Didn't bother us. The neighbor rooster is a bit loud. Never heard the horses.

Would we go back? In a heartbeat. In fact we're thinking of stopping here on the way to Vienna next year.

By the way, the buses are so easy with only one connection from the train station that the location should not put you off.

In a word, we loved it.

This hotel was great. We booked a category B room and it was lovely. It is simple and fast to get into town by bus, better than driving. Would recommend having dinner at least one night at the hotel. It was reasonably priced, and the food came quickly even thought it was made to order. Breakfast was good but don't go at the end of service as they didn't seem to replenish things towards the end. They will make you whatever kind of eggs you want. The woodworking throughout was beautiful. This was my favorite hotel in our trip of Germany and Austria and also the least expensive.

A jewel off the beaten track. You'd need a car to really enjoy this place as it is located somewhat far from the city center. This is a great place to stay if you're in Salzburg for some two or more days and want to discover the area in a relaxed manner. It's not for travellers who just want to see the city and move on. That said, if you are interested in experiencing genuine Austrian hospitality, even for one day, here you'll get an unforgettable sample!
