“Excellent Stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 May 2014

My wife and I stayed three days at Weisses Kreuz by the end of April and were very much happy with our choice. Starting with the very friendly staff, very good breakfast, superb location and comfortalbe room with nice top views, everything was perfect for us. We definitely recommend this place for anyone planning on visiting Innsbruck.

We stayed her in April 2014, and found the Weisses Kreuz exceeded our expectations. It is probably one of the oldest hotels in Innsbruck, if not the oldest, with a fascinating history ,. You could not be more central, with great views of the mountains and the Golden roof from the front rooms. They have managed to fit lovely modern en suite bathrooms into this quirky old building very well. The room we had was small but absolutely fine.
All the reception staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Birgit, who is fluent in many languages.
The buffet breakfast choice was extensive and served in a series of lovely 'period' medieval dining rooms, including one table in the oriel window extending over the street with great views.
If you are looking for some real medieval atmosphere, the knowledge that Mozart stayed, here, quirky interior layout, but all mod cons, forget your bland intentional chain hotels, stay at Weisses Kreuz

Room Tip: Front rooms have nice views, but could potentially be a little noisy from outdoor cafes and bars in...

After Weisses Kruez Interlaken, we were delightfully surprised & awed by Weisses Kruez, Innsbruck. The hotel is in the old town with all charming addresses built around it. We had gone there during Easter & the general atmosphere around the place was exciting & joyous. The hotel had wooden staircase, old wooden furniture, an atmosphere that transported you to a bygone era, but with all the modern amenities. The fast elevator, the wifi connectivity in the room, the small balcony to watch the snow capped alps, the sumptuous breakfast (aplestrudl included!!) blended us in a celebration of modernity amidst the overriding sense & seriousness of the past. When we think of blending the past with the present with steadfast vision into the future, Weisses Kruez Innsbruck will give you the answer. The staff helped us to keep warm with an extra woollen blanket, helped us with directions....we had to move on, but the memories got etched in our mind....we will return to this property again.

Room Tip: The higher floors are beautiful.

This hotel is absolutely central in the old town and only a couple of minutes walk to the museums and sites. Loved the fact I was in a hotel that Mozart stayed in - even though it has been upgraded and now has all the modern conveniences like bathrooms! The room I had was small as was the bathroom as I booked as a single. Staff were very helpful. The breakfast buffet was the biggest and best selection I was offered during my Europe travels. Well priced, clean and cute!

We stayed there on the 10th April 2014. The hotel is located right in the middle of the old town and is in a great location. The hotel was built in the 1500's. We stayed on the 3rd floor. We found the staff friendly and helpful. The room was of a good size with its on ensuite. Another handy option was a general toilet in a room off the hallway. A flat screen TV was provided. There was no real view to speak of out the window. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was included for us and it was quite good with choices of boiled eggs, cold meats, cereals, breads and fruit. As said the location was good and was handy to nearly all the major attractions and the railway station. Also very close to the funicular and cable car up Nordkette mountain.
The only downsides to this hotel was the room temperature in that is was just too hot to sleep comfortably for us, as it is it "heating season" so no air conditioning, also it would be nice to have some more English speaking TV channels. 24hr news replayed every 20 minutes gets a bit much after a while. Be aware the lift is small and may require a couple of trips to get luggage to the room if more than one travelling.

I have been to Austria twice and this last stay was very enjoyable. I found the Weisses Kreuz very convenient and easy to find. It was very close to shops and was a comfortable stay. Room was very inviting and I had a comfortable sleep. Although there were some noises outside during the early hours of the morning, I suppose Austrian's just love a good night out.
