“Very pleasant surprise”
Reviewed 29 August 2014

I booked the Hotel Innsbruck based on location and reasonable price for European 3/4 star property. Although not much to look at from the outside, what a nice surprise inside. The rooms have been recently remodeled to tasteful modern style. Great firm beds, generous room size, good towels and spacious hanging/unpacking space. Air conditioning worked, good lighting, and all the nice bath amenities. Staff was very helpful, nice bar and perfect location in old town. Parking is tight but very sufficient. I did not use large basement pool area but it looked great. The European (naked) spa on the top floor may put some of my fellow Americans off, but the rest of the guests and I thought it was great. Bio-spa, Finnish sauna, steam room, ice box and beautiful relaxing area inside and out was a wonderful finish to a long day of touring. I would not hesitate to stay here again and recommend to my friends.

The location of the hotel is best! It is located right at the heart of the city and close to almost all the attractions. The breakfast had a wide variety of choices. Good service and very well maintained.

This hotel is just wonderful. It was very apparent that the staff wanted to please the minute we walked in the door. The hotel is very clean and the rooms were very comfortable. It is very close to the Old town. The breakfast buffet was excellent. I would highly recommend the hotel to anyone.

Was happily surprised by quality of Hotel Innsbruck. Just across the street from the oldtown and with many rooms having a view of the Inn River it was one of the nicer accomodations we had on our recent European trip. We had a first floor room and I was worried that we would have a lot of street noise and traffic was whizzing by out our window, but rooms were QUIET. And air conditioning worked well. Breakfast in the morning was in a very nicely decorated room with a good selection and service. Added experience was lift to get into hotel garage. Garage is tiny, but made for a good story. Would recommend.

Room Tip: Rooms facing street have river and mountain views.

We couldn't have asked for a better hotel in Innsbruck this summer. The location is short walk to the old town. The golden roof/museum is fantastic, and very close to the hotel.
The pool was a treat for our family after a long day of touring the city.

The waitress over heard us talk about gluten free bread at breakfast our first morning, and took the initiative to offer to make fresh GF bread for the next morning for breakfast at no extra charge. (They just need a day advance notice.) My family was thrilled! Thanks for going the extra mile! Also, we had never used a car elevator-- very exciting for my kids!

BTW The old town has a small grocery store that sold gluten free bread,

This hotel is less than a short block away from the main part of the old city, including tons of restaurants and the main historical attractions of the city. The hotel itself is nice, with a pool and sauna. We were very pleased with our stay.

This hotel couldn't be better placed for a trip to Innsbruck. We stayed there at the end of the ski season in March and the receptionists were incredibly helpful in advising on where to rent ski gear etc. The hotel was spacious and airy, but had the benefit of not being large and impersonal. It is centrally located for museums, sights (including Golden Roof), shops, cable cars to the Nordkette, and the ski bus. The room was nice and big, the breakfast had lots of choice, and the pool/spa was perfect for relaxing after a day skiing. The reception staff were all very helpful and friendly.

Re ski hire and resorts, we went to Die Boerse, on Leopoldstrasse, who were great in sorting out all the gear for us, as I had never skied before while my other half is a rather good skier. We hired all of the gear (skis, helmet, boots) and they even gave us a lift back to the hotel rather than having to carry the gear back through town. They advised that Patscherkofel would be the best place for me to learn to ski owing to the amount of snow still there, whilst a number of the other resorts were by then rather a bare/patchy/icy. In Innsbruck the ski bus is free for anyone wearing ski gear, so that was nice bonus. Patscherkofel was great - I had a couple of hours of lessons, while my other half skied the Olympic Men's Downhill route from the 1964 and 1976 Olympics.
