A warm welcome when we checked in at reception was the start of an excellent two week holiday at the Tiefenbrunner which is located at one end of the main street in town.
Our room was massive with a large bed with seating area and a balcony with views over the town of Kitzbuhel towards the Kitzbuhler Horn. Cleaned every day, the room was spotless and fully met our expectations. Being away from the main street, the room was very peaceful.
Food in the restaurant was excellent and nothing was too much trouble for the staff in the restaurant or in the kitchens. Although there was a choice of main course, if you weren't so keen on any course, it would be substituted (without charge) for something more to your liking. Staff were also extremely friendly and informative.
The spa area includes two saunas (one hot, one cooler), a turkish bath, numerous showers, a solarium and a large swimming pool with spa jets - my only criticism is that the pool was a little on the cold side when you first entered.
Mountain bikes were available free of charge as part of our package with Inghams but I understand that guests booking directly with the hotel have to pay a small charge. The bikes were adequate for our purposes but don't expect carbon fibre and dual suspension.
Wired internet is available in the rooms for a small charge (various packages up to €15 for 12 hours) or at reception on their computer at €1 for 10 minutes (I think).
Recommended without any hesitation.

Room Tip: Book a superior room with balcony on a low (first to third) floor as these have excellent views, are...

Been many times to Kitz in the summer, but this was our first stay at the Tiefenbrunner. We usually stay at the Kaiserhof but as they were yet again reassembling, it wasn't available. Booked a Junior suite with a balcony, room offered did not have a balcony, so I requested a change. This was not a problem and we had a room up on the 5th floor which was quite superb.
All the staff were very friendly from front of house, waitress and housekeeping - really quite charming and very good, quite a few English staff.
Having a beer sitting outside in the evening was just perfect. The swimming pool was lovely. There was also free bike hire that I used which was again really good.
There was a piano on the first floor which I played - it was nice (wurlitzer) just needs a wee bit of tuning ....or maybe I hit too many wrong notes !!
Would certainly return.

Room Tip: rooms were spotless and very comfortable

Had a fantastic time at this hotel. Travelled with my husband and 2 children (Age 1 and 5). Hotel staff could not have been friendlier, nothing was a problem. Dining room staff in particular were wonderful.

Had large family room overlooking the main street. Didn't find it noisy in any way. Room itself was lovely with fresh bedding on a regular basis and fresh towels each day if needed. Food was brilliant. In the two weeks of our stay, no evening meal was the same. Quality of the food was superb with excellent kids menu also. Pool was blissful after a day of walking.

Hotel location was ideal. Close to both gondola stations and main pick up point for our travel company, Thomsons.

Would recommend to anyone and if back in Kitzbuhel would not stay anywhere else.

We booked this Hotel through Inghams and were very happy with the costs - it proved extremely good value for money.
The hotel is located right on the main street in the town and this may prove a little noisy for some although the room which we had was at the side of the building and noise was no problem at all other than the occasional church bells. The location really could not be better for access to the town and the Ski Bus stop is within 100 yards of the rear entrance, ideal for an early arrival on the slopes.
The room itself was comfortable without being over fussy. Rather than being a "standard hotel room" it had a little more character to it so that one knew that you were in Austria rather than just anywhere in the world. There was plenty of space to move around and it was well equiped although the normal tea and coffee making facilities were absent - not a great disadvantage in my opinion as this encouraged one to go down into the town and sample some of the superb cafes that abound. Maybe it was because of a hard days skiing, but I found that the bed was extremely comfortable and sleep came very readily. It was kept spotless by the housekeeping staff.
Breakfast in the restaurant provided adequate choice from the buffet and I thouroughly enjoyed the bacon, sausage and scrambled eggs - just the thing to set you up for a morning on the slopes!
Five course evening meals offered a choice of three different main courses, all of which were very appealing. The food was cooked to perfection in all cases. The major feature of the restaurant in my opinion was the level of service. It was just superb. The staff could not have been more friendly, attentive and helpful, especially the restaurant mannager who seemed to be always just on hand when required.
Reception staff were likewise extremely friendly and helpful, unlike in some establishments where they give the impression that you are just a nuissance messing up their otherwise well ordered day.
The pool and welness centre looked very appealing although we never had the time to use these facilities. The heated boot racks in the ski room were a very welcome bonus!
Despite being a large hotel, the Tiefenbrunner managed to give the impression of being a small cosy establishment where everyone cared - a rare event these days.
We would definitely go again.

We booked a trip to Kitzbuhel for late Feb / early March, somewhat foolishly at the peak of the high season. We were struggling to find anywhere and saw this hotel had availability on Booking.com, but at 235euros per night B&B, which was a bit more than we would have wanted to spend. Tired of searching for hotels, we booked it and thankfully did not live to regret it. Our room was spacious and clean, with a large bed and sofa / table area and also a reasonable sized balcony overlooking the Kitzbuelerhorn and the southern end of the town. We had arrived at around 11:00am, though check-in was officially at 3:00pm. Nevertheless, despite being full, the hotel arranged for early check-in (even ringing up the cleaners there and then to achieve this). On the second day we arrived for breakfast at 10:15 (and when it looked like they were finishing up for the day). The breakfast was generally very good (continental / American / English), but on this occasion the bacon and eggs were looking dried so the Manager insisted on making us the fresh eggs of our choice, which was much appreciated. The staff generally spoke v.good English and were v.helpful. We also ordered Room Service and this was very reasonably priced.
We also used the spa and pool facilities on 2 days when we were too tired to ski and thought these were excellent. On both occasions we were the only ones in the pool and sauna areas despite spending a good hour there.
Overall, I would strongly recommend this hotel and the only reason we would not give an "excellent" score was because we were in effect getting what we paid for.

The Tiefenbrunner is situated right on the pedestrian mall in Kitzbuhel and there is outdoor parking at the rear of the hotel, accessed from a street behind the hotel. It is a short walk to the ski lifts but is about 1km from the railway station so a taxi ride is necessary if you have luggage. Considering that Kitzbuhel sprawls, the hotel position is as good as you can get.
The standard double room was of a good size and the bathroom was good. The rooms and the public areas were starting to get tired and would benefit from an update. Smoking was allowed in the bar on the ground floor and unfortunately the smoke tended to drift up to the other floors.
We has half board and the breakfast and dinner were excellent. A fitness centre and pool are in the basement.

The slleping quality was goods ( good bed, nice pillows but the matrass needs no to changed due to springs coming out). The rooms are big, but it was very hot and stuffy. During our 7 days stay the linens were not changed, only the towels.
The breakfast is nice. The location is goods, dogs are allowed which is a plus.
The stuff was very nice, helped a lot with evening dining.
The wasn't any tee/cofee making facility in the room which is very upsetting. There is no free internet.
