Bang in the middle of Kitzbühel old town - cobbled streets, horse drawn carriages and painted walls and shops selling dirndls and lederhosen. Shop around - prices for lederhosen vary from 95€ to 1750€.
If you have a big black Mercedes or a Porsche Panamera or a Range Rover, you can park wherever you want, it seems – mere mortals have to park somewhere else and walk into the old town. Kitzbühel is the only place in the area where you have to pay to park – everywhere else it’s included in the lift pass.
Walk into Praxmair's and the ladies behind the cake counter will sell you a slice of yummy cheesecake for 3€20. Choose the one you want and take it to your table. In an entirely separate transaction, the waiter takes your order for tea with milk and an excellent cup of coffee for 4€90. There’s also a bar with a carved dragon hanging from the ceiling, but I think the main thing here is coffee and cakes.
