“Excellent hotel at the perfect location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 February 2014

The Kaiserhof hotel is situated right next to the lifts to the slopes, as well as the 21/22 pistes that take you down from the mountain. A parking garage is situated right underneath, so if you drive there you can just leave your car and forget about it for the rest of your stay.

The rooms are great, the minibar is free, and so is the wi-fi. Most hotels charge around 18euro/day. All the staff was excellent and we were always greeted by name. The breakfast is good and there is great variety at the buffet.

The spa is a very nice space, along with the indoor pool. Some guests with their children did not respect the quiet of the spa, becoming annoying to those who were there to relax. Perhaps staff need to pay attention to this a bit more.

Overall, a great hotel and a great experience.

Just returned from 10 days ski trip with my son and still very excited.
The hotel enjoys perfect location for skiing, the Hannenkamm lift passes just above your balcony.
From the hotel heated ski and boots storage room it's 100-150 meters to the gondola lift.
Skiing back on # 21 red piste (Streif) brings you 20 meters before ski room door.
To the ski rental shops (I reccommend Hervi's-low prices, great service and located just below Rot Teufel ski school) it's another 60 meters from the gondola.
To the beautiful medieval center of Kitz it's 7-10 minutes walking distance.
My son took 2 days group lessons in Rot Teufel-very disappointing total waste of money. You better find private instructor (I know it's very costly but you get what you pay for.
Service-I can't say enough about that-you are treated like a king from arrival, warmly greated by lovely and beautiful Flori at the reception until departure, the personal there desires to spoil you endlessly. We were upgraded from simple twin bed room to much bigger room with bacony and mountain view without even asking.
Dining-breakfasts are heaven, lot sorts of cheeses, salmon, eggs made by order, fresh juices etc.
Attila and Julia at the restaurant are doing a great job.
4 p.m. snack at the bar-very poor quality and quantity first 3 days, improved greatly after that.
Dinners-6 course gourmet. Generally-very good soups and desserts, not bad main courses, salads are uneatable being drawn in huge amounts of vinegar, good choice of cheeses.
The waiters personal are really excellent but the chef needs major improvement.
After long day on the slopes you can spoil yourself at the spa-lots of saunas, small inside pool, infra red and relax room-great. What really was missing it's some kind of jacuzzi.
Another minor problem-we didn't succeed to control the room temperature and the blankets were very thick- replaced after 2-3 days to thinner ones.
All in all beautiful experience and very reccommended. It's certainly not cheap but it's 4S Hotel in schick Kitz so you get what you paid for. I also compared the prices to the same quality hotels and was not great difference.

Room Tip: Ask for mountain facing room.

My wife made a really good choice booking the Kaiserhof. It's a very pleasant hotel, close to one of the main ski lifts, near a ski hire shop and a short distance from each of the two ski schools. Consequently, you can walk out of the hotel's ski room and easily access skiing facilities without having to trudge for miles or take a bus. There are a good mixture of easy "cruisy" blue runs, a good number of red runs, some easy blacks and hard blacks, so the pistes should suite most families. The hotel itself is tasteful, very clean and gives the impression of being well run - the reception staff were efficient and very helpful. We got one of their winter half board deals (7 nights for the price of 6) which made the holiday reasonably good value. There was an extensive breakfast buffet with a wide choice and the many-course dinners were substantial and enjoyable. We booked a suite and our son slept on the fold out bed in the living room part. The suite was large, tasteful, modern and comfortable with a safe and several radiators to dry ski clothes on. The bathroom was of a good standard with a shower and bath. There's an indoor swimming pool and you can book a massage if you like. I had a combined reflexology / massage session which was very nice after a day's skiing. The hotel has a bar by the reception but a much bigger and nicer one in the other side of the hotel where they serve a complimentary snack in the afternoons (it's kind of hidden away and not that obvious where this is so you may need to ask where to find it). My only complaint is the coffee that is served at the bar - I asked for a large hot Americano and what came was a minute, hardly warm excuse for a drink - not really what I would have expected from such a hotel. Well, I suppose you can't get everything right.

Note that there are two ski schools in Kitzbuhel (the reds and the blues). We booked the blues (Element 3). They are situated slightly further away from the hotel but my son made fantastic progress with them. We also had a private instructor from Element 3 who was really first class.

We stayed at the hotel in mid-November on a house hunting trip in Austria. We only stayed for one night so impressions are fairly limited.

The hotel is a little walk up from the main town and is certainly impressive from the outside. The inside also gives the impression of being very well maintained both in the public areas and in our room. I have marked it down purely on the fact that our room had no air-conditioning. to be fair this is noted at booking (the cheapest room) and in mod-November is really not a problem.

We were offered a five course dinner for €25 which to be honest seems amazing value for money but as we wanted to eat out in the town we declined.

Staff were very friendly and efficient and breakfast (included in the price) was excellent. The (soft) drinks in the mini-bar were included in the price which is a nice touch as I hate hotels which charge for water!

All in all a really nice hotel and would like to stay for longer.

We stayed at the Kaiserhof for two nights, and wish that it could have been longer! My husband and I took my mother in law there for a short get away, and we can not say enough about this property!! Getting there was easy, check- in was a breeze, and the room.......was gorgeous! The view from the room out to the tram and town was breathtaking, the décor inside was typical Tyrolean, but had a contemporary flair, and the fridge was stocked with complimentary drinks for us to enjoy at our leisure. We also had a hand written note waiting for us from the manager welcoming us to the hotel. The staff makes you feel like they are there just for you and are so eager to help with dinner reservations, etc. The breakfast buffet was exceptional and the afternoon snack area was a nice touch while sitting in the lobby for a drink. The location is very accessible to everything, but not too close to be annoyed by street noise. We loved everthing about this hotel and can not wait to return! Best of Kitzbuhel!!!

Stayed here for the second week of our Austrian holiday and had a fantastic time. Rooms are great and the bed was very comfortable. Could have done with air conditioning but housekeeping were happy to supply us with fans. The food was outstanding. All the dishes looked like works of art! Great choice for breakfast too including hot and cold dishes. Hotel is ideally situated for the cable car and the train station.

The hotel was booked through Thomson (Crystal) as a package holiday. The hotel far out reached our expectations. The room was gorgeous, the staff so polite and they couldn't do enough for you. The pool and wellbeing areas were lovely. The food was superb. Would definitely return to this hotel.
