Hotel Licht was recommended to us by a friend of ours who had stayed there on 2 previous occassions.
We didn't know what to expect as this had been our first experience of a ski resort in Austria. The Austrians are unbelievably efficient and looked after us from the time we stepped out of the plane till the time we stepped back onto the plane. Renate made sure that we were welcomed and settled in and took every care to ensure that all our needs were met.
The Hotel is small enough to provide personal attention to every guest and all the facilities that are required in a ski resort were catered for. The rooms we were allocated allowed us to prepare meals in the rooms as they had a kitchenette and lounge attached. The beds were comfortable and all the rooms were cleaned on a daily basis.
The hotel is within walking distance ( 5 minutes ) from the town centre, the local supermarket ( Billa ) as well as the ski lifts and ticket offices. This is always an important part of a ski trip as the sun goes down early and we always like to go into the restaurants to see how the local community live.
The best accolade anty traveller can give is to return to a hotel. When we go back to Kitzbuhel we will definitely be staying at the Hotel Licht.

Room Tip: The rooms at the bottom are the biggest with the lounges and kitchenette.

What a lovely warm and personal greeting we got from Renate and her team when we arrived. Our room was spacious and airy and spotlessly clean. Our bathroom was likewise and fresh towels were given each day. The breakfasts were brilliant. The Hotel is within 5 minutes of the main square. The only reservation we had was that drinks in the hotel were a bit pricey. Despite this we would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. A brilliant stay.

Renate, the owner and manager, was born in this, her family hotel. She treats the property and its guests like family. She is generous and caring beyond description. The Villa IS what you might dream of as a classic Tyrollean hotel without the problems you might worry about. Updated rooms, flowers, a wonderful lawn with shaded seating, nice porches, and even a pet bunny. Add that to the fact that it is just two blocks from the "action" (which we can do without), yet quiet and you can see why we enjoyed staying here.

Dear fellow travellers,
after more than 4 years of visiting Villa Licht in Kitzbuhel and enjoing the famous warmth, and hospitality of Renate and her team...we write at last, a long over due report. Renate and her team are super and we are always sad to leave to return to the daily routine back home again. We highly recomemnd Villa Licht to any one, adult or child, families and lovers who want to experience a cosy experince in Austria. The welcome from Renate and her team (Eva, Yvonne, Sulton, Zeliha, Habibe and Hortice) as well as from her son Benji is always the start of a great holiday. The rooms and the chalet are lovely, spotlessly clean, tidy and welcoming - all under the sharp and professioanl eye of the very nice and efficent team of Zeliha, Hortice and Habibe. Thanks to them, after a day's sking or hiking, it is always lovely to relax in the rooms ...one feels at home. The breakfast is a real highlight; very healthy, Tyrolian top quality...you just want to keep eating and enjoying. The carrot bread is a must! Sulton is the lady in charge of the daily morning feast and she does a great job. Eva is there most mornings to welcome you and to look after you; she does a very fine job indeed. Then in the evening, after lots of fresh air and activity in the mountains, there is Eva and Yvonne are always there to welcome you in the intimate hotel bar which is so cosy and welcoming that you don't want to leave. Do try there red wines (Ausrian of course), both ladies are a delight and lots of fun. Villa Licht is very well located and u walk to the slopes in 5 mins which is great. Renate's customers come from Europe and North America and other far away places since years....we look forward to coming back and thank Renate and her team for showing us another beautiful part of Europe...we will be back very soon. Thanks for a great holiday ! What could be improved? Could Renate make time go slower? Possible? Then the experience would last longer!

Late in reviewing, but catching up. Our family of three including our ten year old daughter selected these accommodations based on reviews here and we were not disappointed. We spent a week with Renate in this lovely venue and were treated fabulously. Our visit was in August of 2011. Each morning breakfast was fantastic and helped us to start our day of adventures. Our rooms were spacious, clean, and with a lovely view of Kitzbuhel and the Alps. Renate helped us with directions and suggestions as we navigated our surroundings. I visited Austria with my parents when I was ten and had such wonderful memories. Renate and Hotel Villa Licht ensured the same for our daughter so many years later. Nothing but good to say about this lovely venue.
