The Kaiser is a basic hotel for school ski trips and is absolutely fit for purpose. It looks a bit tired, but I understand there's to be some work this summer.
For other school teachers, you can be assured of an experienced welcome, and plenty of advice and help if you need it.
Food is also pretty basic but more than adequate and better than many a school dinner !
The location is good; close to the centre of town (c10 mins) and a supermarket is near at hand.

We take our sixth form students to the Kaiser every year - they keep coming back for more and wouldn't let us go anywhere else!!
They really enjoy the whole "Kitzbuhel" experience and the Kaiser is central to that. It has a great location and easy access to the town and ski areas.
Mike, Barry and the staff are always really friendly - even though we keep them up till late in the bar! - and nothing is too much trouble for them.
Our students are more used to the 4* hotel or luxury chalet type of skiing holiday but just love the casual and friendly atmosphere of the Kaiser.

I can't believe some of the reviews I have read about this hotel. I have been taking school skiing groups abroad for quite a few years now and I went there fearing the worst after reading some of the reviews. The reviews I read were over the top.

I got there and was greeted by the owner who could not do enough to help and showed me the rooms. Ok the rooms need a little tlc and maintenance but as I understand it, the owner is planning on refurbishment in the near distant future.

The hotel is in a fantastic location right close to the town of Kitzbuhel.

The service at the hotel from the staff who worked there was excellent. They were always helpful and polite and they catered extremely well for the school groups there.

The food was a good selection and the children enjoyed everything that was put in front of them and there was more available if they wanted.
I cannot fault the staff and their efforts and in the future if they are planning on refurbishment then this would be a top class place to stay for school groups.

Stayed here as part of a school party. So teachers fully responsible for choice. Accomodation very very basic to say the least. Carpets very worn out and should have been replaced long ago. Sheets were clean, but pillows and quilts very stained and in some cases very smelly. Extremely glad I had packed my own pillow and blanket! Food was edible, lacked variety and did not cater for my five portions of fruit and veg a day.
Bathroom was not very clean. Plug hole in bath was partially blocked , so bath filled up when taking a shower. You did not want to risk taking a bath!
Would not recommend you stay here unless there is snow on the ground and everywhere else is full.

I cannot believe some of the reviews of this hotel and the comments about the staff. We have been taking school parties to this hotel for eleven years. The accommodation is basic but always clean and exactly what yuo would expect for the price. The food is exactly what the kids want to eat. i cannot see a problem with a choice of cereal, toast etc for breakfast. Evening meals are varied and of a good standard.

As for the staff, Barry and Mike will always go that extra mile to help and have over the years offered useful advice and information. They are always good humoured and apparoachable and have endless patience.

The hotel is in a good location and the large garden is a useful area for football etc

location - fairly good. It is close to the train station, so ideal for back packers. Kitzbuhel centre is about 8 mins walk from the accomodation. The area surrounding the hotel is pretty run down, now that could be because it was the end of the ski season, but i doubt it!

Rooms - dangerous to say the least. They were discribed as having traditional features, however , i would describe them as having concrete orniments that jut out of the walls at odd angles and are filled with coke bottles (and other rubbish that the staff couldn't be bothered to clean).

The bedding was urine stained, the beds (bunks) were full of graffitti, with litter stuffed down the sides of the mattresses and generally in need of repair........doors were hanging off the wardrobes, bits of MDF was hammered to the walls, floor and or furniture to cover up earlier damage. The thread bare carpets were held together with grey insultanting tape. The light fittings were old toilet roll holders.....the list goes on!

The food was edible but only just......................breakfast ==> value cornflakes, cheese and ham with stale bread, lunch (make your own ) same as breakfast, eveing meal was soup (later reserved as a sauce for vegetarian dishes), Chicken leg, ribs, or turkey meat with a jacket potatoe...basically anything that could be left in the oven all day and burnt to a crisp! Desert was always tinned fruit with whipped cream and if you were really lucky.................Icecream...................but dont dare ask for it!!!!!!

The bar area was fine for the group of school kids we took with us, but drinks were 1 euro 30 for a small glass of coke, when you could buy 2litres down the road for 1 euro!!!!!!

The hotel owners and staff were polite but constantly aggitated and always had to ask somebody else before you got a response to a question...........reminded me of the chuckle brothers.

In my opinion stay away from this accomodation............dirty grubby, poor service, unsafe and generally not nice.

This hotel was completely disgusting. I have so much to warn you about this hotel that I’m finding it hard to begin.

We took a party of 24 children and 7 adults to the hotel as part of a school ski trip..... and as this is my 5th school trip I am used to seeing some basic but clean school accommodation. This hotel however, has left me lost for words.

ROOMS

Graffiti and urine stained beds and bedding, masking tape to join the thread bare carpets, Bizarre and highly dangerous green ornamental fixture that jut out of the bedroom at odd angles.......faulty windows, toilet roll holders for light fittings, random pieces of MDF hammered to any part of the building that was damaged previously. Furniture that was broken or unusable, sweet wrappers on the floor, under the beds, in the beds and this was before our students had entered the room.............believe me if we could have found alternative accommodation we would have left before the kids got off the bus.

LOCATION

Not bad.... on the edge of town (8mins walk)....but in a very run down area. Near to the train station for back packers etc.

FOOD

Breakfast was dry stale bread, value cornflakes, muesli, tasteless cardboard cheese and spicy ham......everyday.

Packed lunch was provided but was the same as breakfast.

Evening meal was:

-Water
- Bread + soup - later used as a sauce for vegetarian dishes, a jacket potato, roasted chicken leg, and basically anything that could be left in the oven to cook itself all day and ultimately taste of cardboard. This was always followed by tinned fruit and whipped cream or if you were really lucky...icecream. (BUT not available at request)

Don’t get me started on vegetarian dishes...............left over rice and veg mushed together.........YUCK!!!!!!!

OVERALL

Security is an issue as there are no safety deposit boxes only the safe in the manager’s office.

To top this off ............the hotel was staffed by people not dissimilar to that of the chuckle brothers... (Honest).... they didn't have a clue!!!!!

We can only refer to the hotel as Shonky towers!!!!!! It does not resemble the webpage one bit.

DO NOT ENTER THIS BUILDING!!!!!!!!!
