“I liked very Kitzbühel and never forget this place ,because the nature there”
Reviewed 24 January 2011

I liked very much a Kitzbühel, because the ski and nature there is very parfect and the people with beautiful smiles and with good of test. I like how they dress and the city is looking lioke the old toy town, from fairytail. There buildings not big and looks like a toyies painted with bright; and difference coloures.
When I go acroos the street of this town, I feel myself like in some Farytail city.
I like ,very very and would like to spend there the rest my life

“kitzbuhel alpen card”
Reviewed 23 September 2010

Just recently returned from a visit to the kitzbuhel region and just to let every body know that if you intend to buy a kitzbuhel alpen region cable car lift pass dont include the bus.
the card entites you to unlimited travel on most of the cable cars and chair lifts in the region, but the leaflet says you can include the bus which I paid 20 euros for but tried to use it and it is not axcepted on the post buses, after talking to to tourist board in kitzbuhel and the cable car company no joy, but if you look at the small print it says you can use it on buses east of Worgl, but where is east of Worgl? look on the map and it shows a bus line pointing from the top of the mountain to hopfgarten, so on asking around found i could only use it on the post bus from hopfgarten to itter, but if you stay elsewhere it is not much use to you, so save your money and dont ask for the bus to be included.

“Kitzbuhel dissapointing”
Reviewed 8 February 2010

Kitzbuhel has virtually no typical Austrian-style Apres-Ski. If you enjoy all the normal silly Apres-ski songs and dances then resorts such as Saalbach, St Anton and Ischgl offer much more. The only bar we found that got anywhere close to Austrian-style Apres-ski was the Pavilion close to the Hanenkhan lift. However the Pavilion is very small and so crowded that the staff spend most of their time pushing customers about, in their attempts to deliver drinks around the bar. - Very uncomfortable!

“Beautiful and elegant”
Reviewed 30 August 2009

This proved to be an excellent base for walking. We bought the 3 day Summer lift pass that gave 3 days worth of cable car rides plus free use of the local post buses (all week) + free use of the Aqua Centre. At 40 E it was a bargain. Of the 3 local Cable car rides we found the Panoramabahn to give the best views from the top. To get there, use the free bus pass to Breitmoos (this is the middle station) Take the cable ride to the top and walk around the circular walk at the top or one of the other routes to come down - or take the cable car up and down to the other side of the mountain. The Kitzbuhelerhorn and the Hannenkamm are both worth going up for the views but I would not recommend walking down - there is really no point and you'll just end up with sore knees. There are lovely walks around both mountain tops - a very interesting information 4 seasons walk at the top of the Hannenkamm and then a relatively easy walk from the Hannenkamm past the Ehrenbachhohesee (mountain pond) to come down the Fleckalmbahn Cable car and a bus ride back or walk back along the valley past the Schwarzee lake to Kitzbuhel.
The walks cater for all abilities from easy flat river and valley walks to rambles in the lower slopes or high level hiking. The best views are from the top of the mountains but there are many other lovely quiet walks ambling through the lower slopes passing wonderful meadows with beautiful farm houses but still having fantastic views of the mountains round about. If you don't fancy independent walking then there are a selection of FREE guided walks from the information centre in the town.

“Worst ski hol ever”
Reviewed 30 March 2009

Spent a week in Kitzbuel, end of Feb, at chalet karlberger brillant chalet and staff were great, shame about Kitzbuhel though, only 2 pubs worth going in, Flannigans and the Londener both great pubs, but there is nothing else happening, there is no lively cosmopolitan night life as the ski brochures state. As for the skiing it was terrible. Our group ( 2 couples) have been skiing for about 7 years and we all do red runs and the men the occasional black. But we found kitzbuhel hard work, none of the runs were piste bashed so it was mogules every where and in places grass was showing, even though it hadn't stopped snowing all week. Also the pistes were badly sign posted and difficult to find our way round. We found 1 good run one day a mix of red and blue, but ended up on a car park no way back had to walk to bus stop. There were only 3 runs down to the main Hahnenkamm Gondola and these were all reds and one of which is the famous Hahnenkamm Streif the most feared run on the international racing calendar, so begineers beware there are no easy runs. Will not be going Austria again.
