“Worst relation of price to the standard! Basic and ugly”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 August 2012

This is a hotel which claims 3 stairs accommodation, I truly do not understand why. Rooms are absolutely basic and lacking any character, the noise from the street does not allow to sleep. It looks more like a hostel. Located in the middle of town, on the cross of two busy streets, in an old building which was not designed to be a hotel. I strongly discourage you to take a room there, there are some nicer hotels in the city. If it costed 20 Euro per person the price would be maybe acceptable - but it is nearly 4 times more. I would prefer to sleep in the park on the bank than in this hotel. In fact it spoiled our impression from Bregenz festival (and a festival is simply great).
They have nice staff, this I must admit, but nice staff cannot replace proper rooms.
I stayed in the similar hotel in Zgorzelec in Poland, but the price was 5 x less and the rooms were quiet.
I am definitely not staying there again, even if I am planning to come back to Bregenz for a next festival.
I definitely am going to pay a little bit more and with a little difference in price get a huge difference in quality.

Room Tip: Do not choose this hotel, pay a bit more somewhere else and do not spoil your holidays. If you must...

I had a short overnight stay at this conveniently located pension in the city centre, walking distance to both the Main Rail Station and the Opera stage on the Lake (Seebuehne). Located in an old typical renovated three (or four) story building without an elevator, my basic room had a nice comfortable bed; a small writing desk, an old-fashioned TV and a separate shower and toilet.
Two negatives: the curtains were thin and incapable to keep the light out during a short summer night; without air conditioning, having to leave a window open made the room very noisy....
Three positves: The hotel offers complimentary wifi, excellent shower water pressure and a superb breakfast included in the price of the room. For guests with a car, the hotel offers free parking in the small open air area next to the hotel building.
The two ladies at the reception that I met during my stay were kind, polite and professional.
My visit at the Opera for a great performance of ' Andrea Chenier' was the hightlight of my worthwhile stay at this hotel.

Good: Hotel was very clean. The parking on site was great and Free! I didn't notice many hotels in this area with that feature. The hotel is very close to downtown Bregenz and everything is within walking distance. The 2 ladies that run the hotel are very nice and accommodating. Breakfast was an average European continental breakfast. The shower was awesome!! This sounds funny but I've been in so many hotels and guesthouses in Europe that have no water pressure or run out of hot water....this was not the case here. Overall, it was a comfortable stay.
Bad: Check In is not until 1600 and this is very literal! You cannot even drop your bags because the hotel is not attended to from 1100-1600. To that point, if you need any help during the day, you are out of luck.
Like I said the hotel is situated very close to downtown. It is also situated on a very busy road. Our room was to the front of the hotel and we could not leave the windows open at night because it was so loud. Luckily we were there on a cooler weekend, so it was not too bad with the windows closed. But, I could imagine that it would be pretty uncomfortable if it were slightly warmer (since there's no AC).

Stayed here as a stopover and arrived late at night with no booking. Staff was very friendly and helpful, price was right and had parking. Room was comfortable with enough room for sleeping, but not really to unwind in. Breakfast was yummy and overall we enjoyed the ambience. Definitely not a great B&B, but was good.

We us this hotel for a stop on our way to the ski holiday.

Nothing fancy, just a nice little place to stay.

Owner is very friendly.

Stayed in an Attic room. Three flights of steep stairs- NO elevator! Room was functional bordering on spartan and in need of renovation. No air conditioning. But a good draft was obtainable by opening shower and bedroom windows and sleeping at the wrong end of the bed. With both the windows open I found the rythmic thumping bass music from a disco one block distant actually helped me sleep. Wireless Internet does NOT work on the Third floor. Rooms on two lower floors, which were being cleaned at time of departure, were even more threadbare. We checked in at the height of the exhibition season so our room fare which exceeded E100 bore no relation to the tawdry reality. Hotel's single employee was very helpful, friendly and well informed. However, he was often out, so you had to let yourself in most of the time. Breakfast varied getting better the later you came down. The car park is the hotel's main attraction.

Nicely situated near various attractions including the Bodensee and the open air opera. Very friendly and accommodating management. While not spacious the rooms are nice and clean, similarly the breakfast was not elaborate but it was more than adequate. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.
