Stayed here a week at end of October in room 5 (double room).

Good: It is located in a great spot, friendly staff, decent breakfast (although all food is room temp), stylish modern rooms, nice view outside room, again great location.

Bad: Uncomfortable pillows (very large but insides free flow away from head), a shower that's impossible to set (either burning or freezing), doors have no deadlock so staff can walk in if they want anytime (it's all electric), the "do not disturb" button on electric lock does nothing for staff because they attempt to come in anyway and when they couldn't come in they even called the room (waking me up from sleep) to ask if I really don't want to be disturbed, soap in shower dispenser was empty, they cleaned my bathroom and left the bathtub full of water and plugged (taking some 15min to drain while I was in a rush to shower and leave), any use of toilet/water reveals a loud noise in the bathroom walls which can be heard all night when neighbors use theirs too, front door has no soundproofing so you hear everything out front of door and visa-versa (every morning can hear people getting their breakfast and asking staff questions).

Room Tip: Some companions of mine also stayed and they took the suit, it was a great big room with kitchen, so...

We had two night in this small compact little pension just in the Hofburg quarter in Vienna. Rooms are small but very comfortable. There is no dining room but breakfast is provided in a communal area on a tray for to eat in your room. Plenty of wardrobe space and a big bathroom with a bath, much needed after some heavy on my wallet shopping!
Rooms were clean, the staff very helpful organising taxi's etc.

My family of three recently stayed at this Pension in Vienna in August 2013. If you are used to a hotel with many services, this is not the place for you. But if you are looking for a reasonably priced place (by Vienna standards) in the heart of Vienna and you are a pretty self-sufficient traveler, you should consider this Pension. As others have mentioned, the pension is not staffed after 5pm in the evening so it is best if you arrive during the day. Your key works for the outside door, the pension entrance, and your room. We did not have a problem with this. It is located just minutes away from major sights and a relatively quiet street (although not quiet enough to leave your window open at night). All of the rooms are on the 3rd floor of the building and there is a beautiful vintage elevator, surrounded by a spiral staircase, to take you there. There is air conditioning but it can't be adjusted in your room so some may find the rooms a bit warm. There is wifi in the rooms that worked well but our refrigerator was not working. Our room was rather small and our 3rd person slept on the sofa-bed but it was comfortable. The room was very clean and had a large closet that fit all three suitcases and hanging clothes. Some others on here have mentioned an issue with the toilets. The staff ask you not to flush anything down them other than the toilet paper provided to you or it could cause problems that they will bill you for. This is one of the first things they told us when we arrived. We were very careful and did not have a problem during our stay. The staff was friendly and helped us order a taxi to the airport and to check on other reservations we had made during our stay. The breakfast is in the lobby area and you can select items and take them back to your room to eat on trays they provide for you. Knowing this ahead of time, we were not expecting much. However, we were actually pleased with the items available for breakfast and there is certainly enough items including cereal, breads, fruits, cheeses...etc. for most to choose from. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay here.

Room Tip: There are only a few rooms at this Pension so don't expect that you can ask for special accomoda...

This little hotel is fantastic. It's perfectly located in the center of old Vienna on a quiet side street. It's in an historic building with a beautiful spiral staircase leading up to the 3rd floor, or you can choose to ride the vintage elevator with an iron gate right up through the center of the staircase. Open a big red door, and you're in a world of contemporary comfort. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, the decor is simple, clean, white and black. The AC, internet, and TV all work great. The breakfast is simple but adequate, and the desk staff is friendly and helpful with answering questions and booking tickets (they helped me with something every day). And it's relatively inexpensive. As is typical with a pension, the front desk is not staffed past 5pm (that's why their prices are reasonable), which they make clear in all their communications. So let them know in advance if you're arriving at night.

I booked this centrally located pension based on others' review. Upon arrival, I was told that we did not have a booking. When I insisted and showed our booking confirmation on my iPhone, the front desk manager (I think called Mario) showed me an email sent from the pension to their own email but addressed to me stating that they had made a mistake and overbooked; but not to my email address. Upon insisting (with two kids), he walked us over to another pension which did not have air conditioning (that he failed to mention).

We had a very bad experience with this pension. The reception is occupied only till 5pm. So we arranged check in between 10-11pm and it was said to us they will be waiting from 9pm. However at 9:55pm nobody was there and when we called on the number, all we got was only full of lies that they're on the way. After more than half hour of waiting with our luggage on the street after long journey, a boy came with almost no english, said sorry that it's not his fault and that we cannot throw anything in a toilet...room was horribly small, so we went on the reception in the morning and asked for the upgrade for what happened last night, but Monika at the reception, told us we're paying for the small room so she cannot give us a bigger room, and 1000more excuses, all she can was give us is max 20e, or then she would recommend to leave. We were shocked with unprofessional dealing with us, even a small benefit would make our trip nice again, but her attitude ruined our whole trip, since she totally didn't care about customer satisfaction. So we rather left with the worst traveling experience ever.

Traveled here with our 6 & 8 yr old and stayed in the apartment suit. We could not believe the value we received, this was a very nice apartment with a separate bed room and a large sofa bed in the living area. We were concerned of proximity to breakfast area and associated noise but never found that to be a problem. Rooms are very clean and very quiet. Having not been to Vienna before I trusted fellow trip advisor writers on location and as others have stated it is a great location, most major sights are a close walk. Schönnbrunn is a taxi ride but everything else is close. Continental breakfast was an added bonus. This is ideal for family travel.

Also after arriving from Italy we found the beds to be amazing, could be because the beds in Italy were so painful.

Room Tip: There's only 8 rooms total and one suite so don't hesitate if you're considering this.
