“There's a Hotel and a Pension - this is the Pension.”
Reviewed 17 August 2012

This is an extremely well-run hotel that takes a lot of pride in their service and operation. Just down the road, about a block away, they some rooms in a residential apartment building that is the pension part of their operation. The rooms in the pension are very comfortable and ultra-modern - except there is no wi-fi access. You'll have to walk the block down to the hotel proper to sit in the very comfortable lobby to surf the web. The breakfast did not seem like a good value and is especially inconvenient when you take into account the walk to the main hotel. The train station is just 4 blocks away and as of 2011 is full of retail shopping and many good places to eat - including places to have a really decent breakfast for much better prices than the hotel.

Room Tip: Remember, the value-priced pension has no wi-fi.

We have stayed here one night only so might not have enough experience to rate everything. However, we have nothing to complain about. We were looking for a hotel very close to the Westbahnof which this was (walking distance). Staff was very friendly and helpful. Check-in was in a different building (Boutique Hotel Stadthalle) about a block away. Room was simple but very efficient, definitely exceeded our expectations as we have seen much worse for the same money. It was clean and comfortable and very quiet (we were in one of the rooms towards the backyard). The hotel was also very eco-conscious which I greatly appreciated. I loved the lavender goods they sold at the reception desk (got a soap and a chocolate bar :-))

I could imagine some people could miss having wi-fi in the room, for that you need to go to the boutique hotel for that), but it was no issue to us. Also, some people might find the bathroom/toilet a bit unusual or inconvenient. It is like a cubicle in your room, door is partially but not really see-through. We didn't mind any of that and would definitely stay here again (or try the boutique hotel next time).

Room Tip: Room facing the backyard was very quiet

The pension is an unexpected surprise. It has no-frills rooms, but brand new, spotless and very convenient. It is a pension, but linked to a boutique hotel just a block away, where you can sit and relax, or have a wonderful breakfast for 10 euros (worth every buck).
It is not in the city center, but very near the subway and tram that gets you everywhere. If you come from the airport, take the direct bus to the nearby train station (instructions at hotel web).
The pension and the main hotel are all eco-friendly, which is an extraordinary plus.

Check in has to be done at hotel down the road. The staff there were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately Internet and wifi also only available at the hotel which was inconvenient as was the fact that there was no staff actually located at the pension. The room itself was satisfactory although the bathroom walls are see through when the lights are on. Quite far from town although lots of public transport nearby. Couldn't find a nice restaurant in the area although there is a supermarket across from the hotel which had nice food for breakfast or a picnic lunch.

The room was very nice, modern and clean. It is very near to the train station which is convenient if travelling by train but is not very close to te city centre, allthough you can take the subway ang it only takes 15 minutes or so to get there. Also, near the pension was hard to find nice restaurants.

Staff was kind, but that's all.

Check-in, wi-fi, and breakfast were available at boutique hoteal, one block away.
a-minute walk to tram line (beingasse) but very isolated in the night.

House was clean, but too small.
I could not open the door, because people walked just next the window.
Room was very cold with inefficient warming radiator.
Very nosy outside and no air ventilator in the room.

The hotel was very easy to reach by train station and the metro with a 10 min walk. The check-in was at a beautiful hotel about a block away. The pension had a very secure entrance. The room had modern décor and was very clean. It had a lounging area with a couch and a table and a small flat screen TV. The bed was ok, but the pillows were terrible. The bathroom was a perfectly functional built-in wall unit with a red glass enclusure, which gave the room a relaxing ambiance. The room also had a nice garden view!
