Reviewed 5 April 2014

It was very clean, modern, with great furnishings (especially the shower). The size of the room was very good in comparison to other European hotels. The free breakfast and coffee were great perks as well.

If you stay here, be sure to take advantage of the U1 and U4 lines of the underground train. You can get anywhere in Vienna with these two lines, including the CAT train to the airport. The station is located about a 3 minute walk from the entrance to the hotel--you really don't need to take a cab from the airport (a cab is 35 euro and the train is 12).

I'm not sure why we couldn't open the windows--it got really hot in the room at night. Also don't understand the double bed arrangement, but it is Europe...

We stayed a couple of nights at Alma which is very close to schwedenplatz and the famous eissalon. It is a short walk to stephansdom and was terrific. The breakfast was nice and the room though a bit small was cosy. The terrace though was lovely.... If you are looking for centrally located hotel as we were with kids, this is a great option.

Dear KMmahad!
Thank you very much for your wonderful review! It makes us happy to read that you enjoyed the location of Alma Boutique Hotel and our service. I agree with you: the ice-cream at Schwedenplatz Eissalon is the best one in Vienna ...and it is just around the corner....
Hope to welcoming you again soon!

Modern, small boutique hotel, my review goes for the luxury room, top floor

+
Great location in district 1
Service from staff is excellent
Breakfast is ok, including coffee
Wifi is free and faster than normal hotel standard
Occitane toiletries (but not the shampoo)
Quiet (when we were here)
Television ok 50-60 channels including international selection

-
Design of the room is modern, but not comfortable
I prefer the bathtub in a bathroom, not in the room itself
Toiletries not replaced
A bit expensive for what you get
Room is not big enough

Would I stay here next time? I think I would look for an alternative in the same area.

We give 5 to Alma Boutique-Hotel for many reasons. A fully rennovated hotel, the rooms are very clean, with modern-stylish decor, tv and mini bar. Separated wc area and bathroom. The breakfast was very good and tasty, the breakfast room perfectly clean. Available at the breakfast room from early morning till late night tea, coffee, capuccino etc. free of charge. Very central but quite, an 8 min walk from Stephanplatz. This is not a 5* luxury hotel and you shouldn't expect that. It's a very nice small hotel in the center of Vienna and it provides everything needed for a comfortable stay without paying a fortune. Moreover the staff is friendly and helpfull. Our next time in Vienna we will definately stay at Alma.

No coffee/tea maker or bottle of water as a 4 star hotels??!!! Our room was exactly at the staircase that is not acceptable that we requested to change the room but the hotel claimed they were full. The shower area and toilet were seperated and the shower area and the bedroom only seperated by a curtain, not even a door. It is a 3 stars hotel at most.
The door of our room have no lock! No security at all.

It is a very nice hotel, at the great location. It is in the center of the city but in a quiet corner without the noise. A decoration in rooms is great. This hotel has a very good value for the money. I would definitely go back there next time i go in Vienna.

Small hotel with 4 rooms per floor, all no-smoking. Rooms are decent size, with very high ceilings. Seperate shower/sink and toilet, in the european style. Similarly, king bed is two twin mattresses each with their own duvet; very comfortable. Downstairs is the breakfast room: cereal, juice, cheeses, sliced meats, egg, sausage, bacon, coffee, tea, cakes. Not bad. Staff is friendly and helpful; really it is just one person who will handle everything -- the single front desk person. Location on a quiet narrow street very close to the Swedensplatz, where you can get the #1 or #4 U-bahn, or the #2 tram around the Ring. Close also to Stephansplatz, a nice stroll.

As for further tips, we recommend Gasthaus Poschl, the Sacher Cafe, Cafe Hawelka, and Kondertori l'Heimer.

Dear Gonnaflyn,
Thank you for taking time for sharing your experience at ALMA Boutique Hotel with other travelers. You pointed out all the matters we are proud of: the perfect location, just behind the Schwedenplatz and near to everything in the old city, the comfort of all rooms with a deal of attention to upper quality, the breakfast with a great selection of organic & regional products and the friendlies of the staff, which is a point I'm personally very proud of it. I'm delighted you enjoyed your stay and I hope to welcome you back at your next planned trip to Vienna:
