I think this hotel is perfect. Everything was great: rooms were clean, very spacious and quiet. Location is perfect! We didn't have breakfast there so I can't tell if they have it or not at all. We traveled there with my friends and we really enjoyed our stay:) btw prices were relatively low

While allegedly this street was quiet in the past, now it resounds with the roar of nearby traffic, passing trams, loudmouths walking past late at night...you name it.

The rooms are pleasant enough (nice bathroom) but it's so hot in here that to sleep with the window closed is asking for a hangover-like headache in the morning. But how are you supposed to kip with that kind of traffic din outside?

Another thing: they dont use bin-liners so it sometimes still reeks of your rubbish when you return in the afternoons.

But mainly...the noise, oh the noise! Insist on getting a room out the back unless you're the type who can sleep through anything.

Oh, and one more delightful point is the people smoking (weed and fags) outside the front of the hotel (ie under your window) so you end up inhaling their filthy smoke.

Wish I could give it a better review as the location is great but please, don't expect peace and quiet here, you'll be most disappointed.

Room Tip: Book a room at the back! Or else buy some good ear-plugs...

I spent 7 nights here, recommended as close to the Natural History Museum where I was working. Helpful desk staff. Took me longer than it should have to realize that to modify the temperature (a bit too warm for my taste) I had only to dial down the radiator (hidden behind the curtains under the window). Breakfast was the typical Central European fare.

We stayed for just one night during the Christmas season for a city trip with the wife and 1yr-old. While this hotel is basic and the rooms and furniture are a bit worn down, the location and the price make up for that. The hotel is in a quiet street, just minutes walking from most major tourist sights. Staff is friendly and speaks English.
The breakfast was not abundant, but still ok, I wasn't expecting much more for the price.
You cannot add a reservation for a parking spot, but if you add it in the note on booking.com like I did, or send them an email or phone call they can keep a spot for you if there is one free. These are in a public garage on the other side of the street. When the hotel doesn't have any rooms left, you can always put the car there by yourself (a bit more expensive).
We were traveling with a small child and they gave us a bigger room for free to provide adequate space for the baby bed.

Room Tip: Request parking by phone or mail to ensure your spot. Request room on the back side to not face the...

Hotel Admiral provides basic but spotlessly clean accommodation in a location that can’t be beat at reasonable prices in this otherwise rather expensive city.

I’ve stayed here on three visits to Vienna and have enjoyed the stay every time.*
It’s a block outside the southwestern edge of the Ringstrasse, right behind the Museumsquartier, on a quiet side street off of Mariahilferstrasse, a major shopping street. Tram and Ubahn stops are only a couple of blocks away, and there’s a Volksbank with a 24-hour ATM right across the street on Mariahilferstrasse.

If you take a left when you exit the hotel you’ll find yourself a couple of blocks from the pedestrianized cobblestone neighborhood of Spittelberg with its cafes and restaurants.

The neighborhood is also very safe.

*Stupidly, Tripadvisor requires me to provide a single answer to the question "When did you travel." Apparently it hasn't occurred to them that people might travel to a location more than once ...

If you can overlook the bed coils poking you in the back all night then you'll sleep ok with the fluffy comforter and pillows. The room was the biggest one of our European vacation with a handy refrigerator, small tv with great picture and a 'normal' bathroom. What was a little concerning/annoying and probably a fire hazard waiting to happen was that you needed your key to unlock your door from the hallway and then to lock it again from the inside of the room. There was no smell of smoke in our room but occasionally in the hallway and in the computer room. The computer was slow and I had to email my boarding pass to the hotel where the staff printed it out. A little inconvenient but at least the services were available. The breakfast was adequate with the highlight being lots of good strong coffee with availability of returning for more later, but who really wants to eat Oscar Meier wieners or pasta for breakfast? The staff were generally pretty helpful and the location was excellent (very near the Museums Quarter and U-Bahn and a short walk from the Ring). It was an older but somewhat updated hotel. It's not the Ritz Carlton but it's also not a dump and I would recommend it.

Great location! Walking distance from the circle old city etc... Clean room. Not much of the service but not less than needed.
We came for 3 nights and the price / value was good.
Simple breakfast but bearable coffee.
Bottom line -- recommended
