Owner description: The „Concerts in Mozart’s House“ take place in the house of Mozarts first apartment in Vienna, now the monastery of the “German Teotonic Order”. Mozart lived and worked here for Archbishop Colloredo in the year 1781. The "Sala Terrena" with its beautiful frescos is the oldest concert hall in Vienna, where Mozart himself performed many concerts. The “Mozart Ensemble” will enchant you with a musical program that includes well-known compositions as well as great works of famous composers like Mozart, Haydn, Schubert, Beethoven, Bach etc. By performing in Austria and abroad, the “Mozart Ensemble” has established itself in the Viennese concert culture and has become an “insider tip” for visitors from all over the world.

“Really intimate concert, loved it”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 June 2014

This was a really intimate and ornate setting within a beautiful courtyard by the cathedral. we were blown away by the wonderful music and close proximity from any seat (about 6 rows in all).

Knowledgeable and friendly staff and drinks in the courtyard interval.

Truly a night to remember and we would go back.

reasonable value as well at 40Euro ish.

“The concert is in the Mozart Haus - not the Mozart Museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 May 2014

We were confused about the location of this concert. We wanted to attend the concert given by the Mozart Ensemble (string quartet) in the Sala Terrena in the Mozart Haus. It was when we went to the Mozart museum and tried to buy tickets that our misunderstanding was explained. There are two separate venues. The Mozart Museum (sometimes called the Figaro Haus) on Domgasse, is where the composer lived for quite some time and recitals are sometimes given there. Mozart actually lived in the so-called Mozart Haus on Singerstrasse for only about six weeks, although he did perform there in the beautifully decorated Sala Terenna.
Having got that out of the way, what about the concert? Well, the Sala Terenna is a magnificent room; walls and ceiling are decorated with frescoes dating from the second half of the eighteenth century. It is a very intimate venue holding around 70 people and the acoustics are superb. The musicians performed brilliantly. The programme consisted of a Mozart Divertimento; a Dvorak quartet; a Haydn quartet; another Mozart quartet; concluding with Eine Kleine Nachtmusik.
There was a very special atmosphere to the whole evening; something we will remember for a long time to come.

“Really nice evening!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 April 2014

Don't be tempted by the horde of 'Mozart' clones trying to sell you tickets to concerts all over the city! The Mozart ensemble provide the best rendition of works of the period in the perfect (historical) setting. Moazart rehearsed, wrote and played in this room and the acoustics are great. The Ensemble are sharp and vibrant, it is a very memorable experience.

“Not bad but overpriced”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 April 2014

The fact that this is called 'Mozart Haus' is already an exaggeration. I've stayed in hotels longer than Mozart lived in this 'house'. The music was nice and the musicians seemed to have a good rapport but there were too many people packed into this very small concert hall. The concert lasted about an hour which was fine but would have been worth it if the price had been 1/3 of what it was.

“Great music”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 April 2014

You get a great feeling enjoying the music of Mozart. The concert lasted for one and half hours, there was alos Opera singer, and during the break there was a champagne served. IT was really a great atmosphere.
