Our family of four stayed in one of the apartments for two nights whilst backpacking around Europe and it was a perfect stop over for some self catering and some clothes washing!
The apartment was clean and comfortable and the kitchen, whilst small, was just the job ... and with a Spar located across the road it was easy enough to avoid paying through the nose at some of Vienna's pricy restaurants!

As well as being convenient for the shops, the apartment is on the doorstep of the Opera House and several tourist attractions as well as the Karlsplatz metro station.

The staff were extremely helpful and allowed us to leave our rucksacks in the reception all day before we caught the night train to Rome.

This hotel was able to accommodate our family of four, which is why we chose it, however, we were very pleased with it, and when we go back to Vienna, we will be staying there again.

The hotel staff were excellent, fluent in English and very polite and helpful. The room was neat and clean and spacious. The elevator was small and slow, but that was ok, we weren't in any hurry. The bed was comfy, and the kitchen was very nice, including a booth for seating.

This hotel is located steps from a coffee house, the opera house, the subway, and a grocery store for stocking and using the kitchen in your room! I don't think it could have been any more conveniently located. They sold tickets to a hop-on hop-off bus tour in the lobby, and the main stop for the busses was just across the street.

They did have laundry at the hotel, but only one washer and dryer. Still, we didn't have any trouble when we used it. My only complaint was that the AC in the room was broken, though one wall of the room was windows and they all opened, so it was a rather moot point.

Loved this place!

We stayed here for 6 nights, June 10 through June 15, 2013. The location, a block from the Opera and the Karlsplatz Ubahn station, couldn't be better.

The apartment we had (407) was spacious and comfortably appointed, with a bedroom completely separate from the rest of the apartment. Climate control was the best I've ever had abroad, with separate (and effective!) controls for the bedroom and living area. The kitchen had all the necessary equipment and a very nice breakfast nook. (There's also a large dining table in the living area.) Although this apartment faced the street, we had no noise problems at all. All the windows are double (not double paned, but actually two windows to open and close) and seemed very effective at blocking noise. At the time we were there, there was some construction going on on the building next door during the day and this was the only noise we could hear when windows were closed.

The maid service was great and got us cleaning and towel replacement each day. Employees at the desk were uniformly polite and helpful.

Our only complaint was that the internet service is unsecured and rather slow, something that seemed quite minor considering the advantages of this place.

We stayed at this apartment for only 2 days. It locates close to the state of opera and right by the subway station. also because of its location there are noise issue during the night. try ask for a room facing inner street instead of having a view room you will have some good night sleep. service was great. Location is best in sense of the price we pay.

Was in Vienna for a week for work and decided to look for more than just a hotel room. Found Derag City Apartments on Tripadvisor and booked a studio style apartment.

Location just can't be beaten. Right next to Karlsplatz u-bahn (direct link to Wien Mitte station and fast train to airport); right opposite Staatsoper and 5 minutes walk to Stephansplatz and Burghof. Fabulous selection of museums, cafes and restaurants on your doorstep. Also, if in town for meetings at UN then direct u-bahn takes about 10 minutes.

Reception was always very friendly and helpful (even while pointing that the cooking hob wasn't broken but that I just didn't understand how to use it).

Apartment was a good size, with separate sleeping/sitting area and kitchenette with dining table, fridge with freezer compartment, cooking hob, microwave and even a dishwasher. Kitchen was well-stocked with crockery, cutlery, glassware and good selection of pots. Also provided dishtowels, washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets.

Nice touch to give complimentary little bottles of water and beers.

Apartment was clean on arrival and cleaner came to do clean and to change towels, etc every second day. Soap was also provided in the bathroom.

So, any complaints? Struggling to be honest. Bread knife and chopping knife could have been sharper ... Something strange going on with the curtains which made keeping all the light out a precision job ... Lift was a bit slow ... Not enough clothes hangers ... Kettle would have been handier than having to use coffee maker to boil water for tea ...

But that really is me searching for little negative things. I just thought the place was excellent. Will definitely aim to stay here when back in Vienna later this year.

Nearly forgot. The free wifi is excellent too.

Located in a secondary road, Elisabeth Strasse, The Derag City Apartment is only 2 minutes from Karlsplats underground station and you can go basically everywhere from here (10 minutes for Shonbrunn, 10 minute for Prater, and just a couple of minutes for the Stephan Cathedral). And if you like walk you are in Kartener Strasse, the main road, full of shops, cafe and restaurant.
We have been warmly welcomed by the receptionist that give us a map and introduces us to the main attraction of the city. The building has a lift and was refurbished to a high standerd. We were in a superior flat, very well decorated, really really warm, with double glased, TV and stereo.
Kitchen area is with induction hob, dishwasher and you will find soap and dishwasher detergent.
If you need something else there is a spar located just opposite the street!
We were thre for work but we really enjoyed the nice flat, the cleaness and kindness of all the staff, and of course the great location to visit Vienna.
I didn't expect to find kettle and coffe machine when I am outside of the UK, but I found them anyway, nver used it. I prefer have my coffee in a proper viennese cafe!
The bathroom was well maintained and we didn't see any wires at all! Maybe they put in place some good strategy to check and mantain flats.
I was really worried by the previous review and this place seemed to me quite the opposite and I will certainly come back!

Room Tip: Flats with windows in Elisabeth Strasse are quiter that the one on the main facade.
