Just back from a business trip to Vienna. This is my second stay here and the first time I had a great stay. The apartment was big and very quiet (facing the inner courtyard)

This time I was not as lucky. I received a room right on Kärntner Straße, a very nosy street with lots of traffic and all night buses and trams. The double pained windows helped but there was still street noise at all hours. The worst was road work being done with a jack hammer until 3:30 am. I can not imagine this was legal to do. No one needs sleep it seems in Vienna.

I did notice the building next store is being renovated with lots of construction going on. I can not speak from experience if this is bothersome or not.

The staff were very nice and my apartment was cleaned daily, including the 2-3 dirty dishes that were placed in the dishwasher.

I liked my stay but given the noise from the street and possible construction noise from next door I might look for another place to stay if life takes me back to Vienna.

Room Tip: Away from street.

as other reviewers have noted you'd be hard pressed to find a more central location than Derag and the comfort levels and staff are good, however our apartment (304) overlooked the major long term building works that are ongoing for the next few months. the staff will tell you they won't affect you but when the cement mixer starts up at 7am you'll soon know what's happening!

When it comes to choosing an apartment within walking distance to the centre of town, you couldn't ask for a better location than this. The apartment was small, but perfectly laid out, spotlessly clean, good bedding and the staff on reception were very friendly and helpful.
There were supermarkets nearby, the train station was across the road, the tram stop next door, the centre of town was barely a block away and the beginning of the hop on hop off bus was at the end of the street.
We were three women travelling on our own and always felt secure. There were many choices of places to eat nearby and tourist attractions were either within walking distance or had many transport options close by.
I would definately stay here again on my return to Vienna.

This apartment was small but had everything we required. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The kitchen was tiny but functional. The beds were comfortable and the apartment clean. The apartment was within walking distance of many major sites and a few metres to a Uban station. There was a good supermarket across the road. It was noisy at night as there seemed to be road works going on in a nearby road and jackhammers could be heard. However once the windows were closed this wasn't a problem. We were able to use the washing machine and dryer for reasonable rates. There were some problems with the WiFi which wasn't working when we arrived and dropped out frequently.
Yes we would stay here again and would recommend to friends.

Our family of four stayed in one of the apartments for two nights whilst backpacking around Europe and it was a perfect stop over for some self catering and some clothes washing!
The apartment was clean and comfortable and the kitchen, whilst small, was just the job ... and with a Spar located across the road it was easy enough to avoid paying through the nose at some of Vienna's pricy restaurants!

As well as being convenient for the shops, the apartment is on the doorstep of the Opera House and several tourist attractions as well as the Karlsplatz metro station.

The staff were extremely helpful and allowed us to leave our rucksacks in the reception all day before we caught the night train to Rome.

This hotel was able to accommodate our family of four, which is why we chose it, however, we were very pleased with it, and when we go back to Vienna, we will be staying there again.

The hotel staff were excellent, fluent in English and very polite and helpful. The room was neat and clean and spacious. The elevator was small and slow, but that was ok, we weren't in any hurry. The bed was comfy, and the kitchen was very nice, including a booth for seating.

This hotel is located steps from a coffee house, the opera house, the subway, and a grocery store for stocking and using the kitchen in your room! I don't think it could have been any more conveniently located. They sold tickets to a hop-on hop-off bus tour in the lobby, and the main stop for the busses was just across the street.

They did have laundry at the hotel, but only one washer and dryer. Still, we didn't have any trouble when we used it. My only complaint was that the AC in the room was broken, though one wall of the room was windows and they all opened, so it was a rather moot point.

Loved this place!

We stayed here for 6 nights, June 10 through June 15, 2013. The location, a block from the Opera and the Karlsplatz Ubahn station, couldn't be better.

The apartment we had (407) was spacious and comfortably appointed, with a bedroom completely separate from the rest of the apartment. Climate control was the best I've ever had abroad, with separate (and effective!) controls for the bedroom and living area. The kitchen had all the necessary equipment and a very nice breakfast nook. (There's also a large dining table in the living area.) Although this apartment faced the street, we had no noise problems at all. All the windows are double (not double paned, but actually two windows to open and close) and seemed very effective at blocking noise. At the time we were there, there was some construction going on on the building next door during the day and this was the only noise we could hear when windows were closed.

The maid service was great and got us cleaning and towel replacement each day. Employees at the desk were uniformly polite and helpful.

Our only complaint was that the internet service is unsecured and rather slow, something that seemed quite minor considering the advantages of this place.
