Pension Vitis rooms are very spacious and clean, with all the needed equipment for a pleasant stay. Karl the owner is very kind and helpful, with very good and quick communication by email before booking and arrival. As a bonus: no reservation fee asked.
We occupied both rooms (1 adult and 4 kids). The 2 rooms have a communicating door, very convenient.
Everything was perfect during our stay, I highly recommend this place. Breakfast was excellent.
Thanks Karl for all you did to make us feel good at your place!

Every time me and my wife travel to Vienna, Pension VITIS is our first option to be hosted. We have been there already twice, and will be once more now in August. The pension is very well located, close to the U-Bahn and the Wiener Stadthalle. The rooms are pretty clean and cosy, with a small kitchen and tea/coffee facilities. Karl is the best guy on Earth, he is very gentle and makes everything possible to make you feel confortable at his pension. He also gave us very useful tips about public transportation and restaurants. And the breakfast he serves is simply delicious!

Karl picked us up from the airport in his minivan, approximately a half hour trip. This was amazing service to start with as we had neglected to confirm the booking. He held it for us even though he requires neither deposit nor credit card. The two studio apartments are up a gentle flight of stairs and Karl helped us with the luggage. Homely and comfortable, the spacious apartment has a queen bed, wardrobe, large comfy sofa, and table and chairs under the large windows which overlook a quiet street and a Turkish cafe. This kept late hours but was not noisy at all when we were there. There is a bathroom, separate toilet, and a well supplied mini kitchen, with fridge and cooktop etc.
Outside the apartment door is a small area with a computer for guests use, and plenty of helpful brochures and maps. Karl and Maria live in the same building and were always available to answer any queries. Nothing was too much trouble to them. The pension is only one block to the bus stop - about 10- 15 minutes into the city centre - and only a 5 minute walk to a suburban shopping complex with plenty of inexpensive eating places, a movie theatre and retail shops, if you can bear to tear yourself away from all the delights of this beautiful city! (try the Gelateria Castelletto bistro on the central ring line) So, what else? Breakfast was generous with rolls, croissants, cheese, ham, salami and eggs, and large pots of coffee.Very welcome in the cold damp out of season weather we encountered at the end of May.This could be served in the leafy courtyard in fine weather. Fantastic value for money so close to the city centre. We would recommend Pension Vitis to anyone.

Room Tip: There are only two rooms, equally good. Pension Vitis is very popular so book well in advance.

From my first contact when booking our stay, Karl was the perfect host - all queries were answered quickly and so many helpful hints and tips too. Collected at the airport and taken to the railway stations very early on the morning of departure - nothing was too much trouble for Karl. A great location, so easy to get into the city centre by public transport and lots of local places to eat. Breakfasts were excellent and plentiful and the kitchenette was very useful and much appreciated. I will definitely be returning to Pension Vitis.

Room Tip: Both rooms are identical!

Host very helpful and lots of guides at the pension. Location OK - very good bus service into central Vienna. The room was large, clean and the little kitchen well equipped. The breakfast was more than adequate so that we could save some bread and fruit for later in the day.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Pension Vitis for four days on a three week visit to Europe. It was wonderful! Karl was a delight and very helpful - he picked us up from the airport, held our bags until our train the day that we left, and in between, brought us a delicious breakfast each morning and provided terrific recommendations for places to eat and things to see. The pension is about a 15 minute walk to the center of the city and about 5 minutes away from the metro. The area was nice, and the room was clean, comfortable and spacious. And all for a really good value. It was our favorite place we stayed on our whole trip, and we'd absolutely come back!
