My second visit to this lovely apartment. Spacious, clean, all mod cons, comfortable, modern clean bathroom and WC. adequate kitchenette. Quiet. both PC and WIFI available. Karl the owner is a mine of information and helpful advice and is an excellent host. although a bus + tram ride to central Vienna the location suited me perfectly. quiet location, the extensive Lugner City shopping complex very close, many interesting restaurants nearby. Karl also sells the Vienna transport tickets and I bought a 72 hours one for E14.50 as the transport system there is unbelievably good, frequent and the ticket covers buses, trams, trains and the underground!! Karl will meet airport, bus and train arrivals and his costs are very reasonable compared to taxis. I could give no higher recommendation to this lovely suburban apartment.

As a solo traveller on a tight timeline, I was happy to find that Karl at Pension Vitis was happy to put me up for single night's stay. I took advantage of the pick-up service for the nominal fee, and Karl was there to meet me personally at Wien Meidling train station. The room was large and well appointed, with optional snacks and drinks available. Karl also had discounted transit tickets which i used for the short bus trip to the heart of the city. The train station is also within walking distance if you don't mind a 15-20 minute walk. Best surprise was the nice breakfast tray wheeled right into the room. I would recommend Pension Vitis whole-heartedly. Thanks Karl!

Room Tip: There are only two rooms, I think. Mine was fine.

We really lucked out when we found Pension Vitis and host Karl Gerstl through trip advisor. What a great place and maybe the nicest "landlord" possible. Herr Gerstl was friendly, helpful, professional and so welcoming we felt like old friends even though we had never met. The unit was really cute and comfortable with obvious care given to every detail. It was so homey, we felt at ease immediately and could have spent a month there.

The place includes secure parking in a locked garage plus there is a communal computer for guest use. A large amount of tourist information is provided in a variety of languages and Herr Gerstl helped us obtain a transportation pass for bus, tram and underground at a discount. He also provided city maps and suggestions (at our request) about attractions and the best way to reach them.

In the morning, at the time of our choosing, we were served a fantastic breakfast in our room. It was so pretty, I almost hated to eat it but it was too good to pass up. The main room was large with comfortable bed, couch, table and chairs, and electric blinds on the Windows. The kitchen is very small but adequate for snacks, bathroom also small. It's on the first floor European, which is the second floor in USA but our host helped carry luggage upstairs and back down

Overall, I can't imagine a better place to stay. Price was very reasonable and there are only two rooms, which can be joined together for a larger family unit, so it's a very personalized experience. Just what we needed for our first visit to Vienna.

Public transportation, markets, shopping centers, restaurants, parks and so forth are all nearby but this place is in quiet mixed use area. It took us about 10 min total to get to the main downtown area (museum square) and the bus runs every 5-7 min so that time included our walk to the bus stop and a wait for the next bus. The ride to downtown was about two min by itself.

I highly recommend Pension Vitis if you are looking for a warm personal homey place to stay!

There are two rooms (from what it looked like) that make up the hotel and they are inside of a residential building. In the room, there is a sink, mini fridge (that included drinks for sale), cups, plates, silverware, cork screw, etc. The room was comfortable and Karl was nice.

Pros: Nice room; Karl can pick you up from the airport if you arrange it with him ahead of time (for a fee); air conditioning; free maps and pamphlets provided by Karl; there is a mall a few blocks away that has a grocery store, ATM, Western Union to exchange money, and restaurants;there is a bus stop in front of the mall.

Cons: a little too far from the city center; small variety of bars and restaurants near the hotel

If you want to be away from the touristy part of Vienna, would like to see how real Viennese live, and stay in a residential neighborhood- then this is the place for you!

Room Tip: Arrange a ride with Karl, so you won't have to worry about finding transportation when you arriv...

The host was most responsive even during the booking stage. He was polite and welcoming. If you are using his pickup service from the airport, you will see how he will get the prime position for you to spot him. The room was spacious, nothing glamourous, but it was what I would call a home away from home. The facilities were all as described by the other reviewers. I did not have his breakfast, but I am sure a thoughtful host like Karl will not let you down on this.
