I fully agree with other reviews about the architectural interest.
Food and wine are decent; my colleagues have also appreciated the different beers. Service is efficient. Price are decent too.
You need to have visited this if you come to Vienna. However I would not return every time I come to Vienna.

I love this place. I eat there every time I go to Vienna. The ambiance is wonderful. I like their hot dishes more than their cold.

This is really a tourist trap. Having said that, parts of the cellar date back to 1100 and you can admire the later addition of an intricately decorated Gothic well house. It certainly has ambiance and the food is cheap. Main courses are around 11€ with snacks such as sausages with bread or soup about 4€
A bottle of local wine, such as a dry white "Gruner Veltlinger" costs 15€ There is usually someone
singing or playing an instrument. Service is speedy with waiters so used to serving tourists, they might seem a tad bored.
Worth visiting once when in Vienna

12 apostollkeller has nice food and staff. But souvenir I bought here (nice glass cup) for 3 euro was terrible! It was packing to paper bag and when I open it, cup inside was all covered with scratches((( So sad.

Zwölf Apostelkeller is a “Keller”. Its name translates into “Cellar of the 12 Apostles” and its acronym is ZA. Traditionally, a “Keller” is a tavern where the local population convenes for having good time together, discussing politics and talking over business, while at the same time they drink beer and eat some snacks. In Central Europe, many Town Halls have a “Keller” in their basement, and most of them have been in continuous operation since centuries.

ZA is absolutely impressive. It occupies the cavernous caves of a building which was erected in 1561. It extends on two underground levels. The caves are vaulted, and the masonry is made of bricks and stones assembled with the techniques of many centuries ago; the stonework of the lower cellar dates from the 12th century. Here, you can have a complete meal, but you can also limit yourself to drink beer and wine and chat with your friends. Prices are reasonable, quality is good, the atmosphere is evocative and reminds the medieval taverns of the historic novels. Don’t miss this experience.

ZA is located in the centre of Vienna, in Sonnenfelsgasse, 200 metres from the St. Stephen cathedral
