Das Augustin offers a very nice brunch on weekends and public holidays. The atmosphere is very relaxed and cozy with a traditional interior.
Aside from a wide selection of breakfasts (either sets or single items that you can combine at your wishes), the restaurant has the special attraction of a house cat strolling around. The cat is not really cuddly but adds to the coziness.
The food and drink options are great, with perfect quality. For vegans, vegetarians, and people who simply do not like milk, Das Augustin has a lot of yummy alternatives.
We had a vegan breakfast (hummus, avocado, antipasti vegetables, bread), a Greek breakfast (avocado, a wonderful large bowl of yoghurt), and divine looking pancakes. Unfortunately I was too slow to try the pancakes, but as my friend had eaten them in no time they must have been just as good as they looked and smelled. In the photo you can see the pancakes, just seconds before they were devoured by a very happy-looking friend. She insists on her privacy, so you have to do without her beaming happy face.
Service is very friendly, nice, and quick - you will never be sitting around with empty plates and glasses. And believe me, your plates will be empty quickly.
We will be back, once the weather in Vienna has improved enough to allow us to sit us outside in the garden.
