This was showing outside the park near the Hilton on TA when I was there but it is in the park near the concert hall and cafe. Some said it was looking worse for wear but looks to have had a clean up.

There are quite a few monuments, statues and busts dedicated to the many great composers that spent time in Vienna during centuries past. However, the one that leaves the greatest impression is the gilded monument to Johann Strauss, also known as the king of waltz, which can be found in Stadtpark, near the Kursalon Wien building

The Monument to Johann Strauss was created by Edmund Hellmer and unveiled in 1921. Here you can see a statue of Strauss, standing upright and playing the violin. The statue is gilded and surrounded by a marble relief with angelic and human-like figures shown listening to his play.

Overall, we found this to be a creative and very nice monument, one well worth finding if you are a fan of the composer or if you simply enjoy finding and looking at statues of important historical figures.

While in the Stadtpark, there are quite a few additional statues you can have a look at, including another associated with classical music - Franz Schubert Statue. It is also worth finding if you are intending to visit the park.

The Strauss Monument is worth seeing, especially if you are a classical music fan. Strauss was a great musician and composer and we today are in gratitude for the musical inheritance he left us.

Convenient sanctuary for a stroll or chilled relaxation. Lots of locals and tourists enjoying its shade entertaining ducks and surrounding flora adorned with statues and busts. Its free and theres drinking fountain. Downside: garden could do with trimming (esp on the non-Strauss side) water stagnant watch out for bugs, and no dogs allowed. Overall lovely mini getaway.

Great Statue of Strauss in the park next to our Hotel - Hilton Hotel - walking distance off the main road, beautiful setting. Can they move it to my back yard ?
