The park was right opposite to our hotel- Hilton. And at the same time, it is known to be aajor attraction. We found it perfect for going for a morning jog, hanging out with our kid (it has a separate play area), fees the ducks in the ponds or simply stroll or hangout. A great activity on day 1, if visiting the city..

Medium size park with a lake, monuments, fountains, restaurants, food stalls and children's play area. The park is actually divided by the Wien River that flows from a large dark tunnel and ends up in the Donaukanal. A nice place to sit and catch ones breathe. Nearest U-Bahn stations are Stadtpark (U4), and Stubentor (U3).

The Stadt Park is a beautifully set park with a boundary on the Vienna Ring Road. It is within a ten minute walk of all of the major sights in Vienna and has a metro station at either end. There are several sculptures and statues of Austrian composers/musicians including Schubert and a golden Strauss. The majority of the crowds focused on the Strauss statue and many of the other sculptures seemed overlooked. Be sure to wander the paths as there is much more to discover. There is a small lake in the centre and the benches here were popular for relaxing on a sunny day. On the far side is the Vienna Canal which is a rather unattractive waterway. There is a dog leash free area here and a children's playground. Crossing the canal are a number of bridges with padlocks on the fences symbolising eternal love for the couples who placed the padlocks there. Well worth an hour or so to explore.

Spent a nice 30 minutes wandering round the park just on the city road ring (at Schubertring) and above the Stadtpark underground station. Great statues of the famous composers like Strauss, Schubert, Beethoven et al. Sit and take it all in with views of the River Wien as it comes out of it's covered section under Karlsplatz.

Pretty greenery, statues and busts of musical legends make for a good place to have a relaxing break. The architecture at the park entrance is fairly impressive, the adjoining canal could have added to the overall atmosphere but for the fact that it was empty.
