This small museum is situated in Sigmund Freud's own apartment. It provides a good insight into his life, his work, and his travels. The English audio guide has not been recorded very well and the beginning of each dictation is missing. Furthermore, the electronic guide is not able to describe the artefacts within the flat in English in the same way that it could in German. Still worth a visit given Freud's significant contribution to psychoanalysis.

“Amazing History”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 April 2014

This is an amazing view at arguably the most influential man in the 20th Century. This museum is actually Sigmund Freud's former home and office. Most of his original artifacts and furniture have been placed in the museum, including his famous Freudian Couch where he saw patients. Some amazing artifacts like the letters between Sigmund Freud and Albert Einstein. Definitely worth seeing if you are a history buff.

“A Wonderful Collection”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 March 2014

The Freud Museum in Vienna consists of exhibit areas and his rooms, where he lived and worked for more than four decades. This museum has a comprehensive collection of Freud's memorabilia, personal items, documents, and photographs. Sadly, missing is his famous couch. Persons interested in behavior and psychology will enjoy visiting this museum.

“Very Freudian!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 March 2014

For someone who majored in Psychology, Sigmund Freud is a must-know dude. His Psychoanalysis theory spanned for over a century and a compulsory part of our curriculum. The museum was his practice place as a doctor. I personally not a huge fan of him, but I found the first hand experience visiting his workplace very entertaining. It feels like I was reliving my day as a freshman, studying history of psychology in his working quarter. The infamous Viennese Psychoanalytic Society picture was there too, however, I don't remember seeing the sofa though. The trademark sofa of Psychoanalysis.

When I was there, they also exhibiting Lucien Freud's (Sigmund Freud's grandson) photos. It was like hitting two birds with one stone.

I had to pay 6.5 Euro for a visit. They also sell his books and some souvenirs too.
