Owner description: The Cultural World Heritage Site of Schönbrunn Palace is Austria's most frequently visited tourist attraction. In the palace the residential and state rooms with their original furnishings and decorations convey an authentic impression of the imperial lifestyle. The park and gardens surrounding the palace make Schönbrunn in a unique synthesis of Baroque art as well as providing a convenient and highly popular recreational area for Vienna's population.

What a fabulous way to spend half a day. Best of all (and not well publicised) is that the entire park is FREE to visit, so greta if you are on a tight budget. Otherwise there are several "comb-tickets" such as the Classic, which includes a self-guided audio tour to the Palace, and entry to the Gloriette roof-top (the coffee shop and lower viewing terrace is free); plus the Privy Garden & the Maze. If on a budget &/or not too keen on OTT roccoco palaces, I'd just pay the €4.50 for the mazes, which were a lot of fun. Obviously popular with locals, this place really hums in weekends.

It was a spectacular palace with fantastic design parks. Great place to relax with family. Good place to take a jog and ride the bicycle too!! You will need to spend one whole day at this place to enjoy the environment and surrounding parks. Try the maze if you dare.....!!

This is one of the ''must see'' in Wien. You will take an almost one hour tour in this palace while listening the history of it. Amazing place with worth price of 11 euros.

I'm not usually one for palaces and stately homes, but the audio guides which come with the ticket for this place are extremely informative, and it is such a fascinating period of history that it represents. Then you have the garden with lots of benches, lovely for a picnic of pastries and Viennese goodies, followed by an excellent if pricey cafe at the pavilion, making the trek up there rewarding. Just make sure you avoid rainy days if you can, as the garden does not have much shelter, and it is worth seeing --- the romantic garden for adults, and the maze for the kids.

The whole place is beautiful. Too bad they don't let you take pictures. Is also very crowded and the guided tours simply clog the narrow corridors so you have to wait for them to move along.
