“Top class hotel”
Reviewed 24 April 2012

One of the most expensive hotels (maybe the most expensive) in Vienna. Real TOP class. beuatiful interior. Very nice and specious rooms in historical style. Located in historical centre, walking distance from all important historical places. During winter very very close to few christmas markets. Hotel restaurant is one of the best restaurants in Vienna, you should try it not only during breakfast :)

Room Tip: Side suites are quieter, in front of the hotel is busy street with lot of cars and tram.

Dear „Petr K“ and friends,

Thank you for posting your review on TripAdvisor, your very high ratings and for your compliments. As well as for taking the time to download some really nice images of the hotel and the room you stayed in.

Looking forward to the opportunity to welcoming you and your friends back, not only for the famous Viennese Christmas markets, yet maybe during another tempting season of music, culture or happenings in Vienna.

Sunny greetings from Vienna to our neighboring Prague,

My husband and I chose to spend one day in Vienna on our way back from a conference. Because it was a last minute choice, I went to Hotwire and booked (name unseen) a room at the Hotel Imperial for 1500 NOK. We joked that we would probably receive a room in the basement. That was not the case, however, we stayed in the very nice room 330.

Service at the front desk was excellent, the room was lovely and clean, as was the bathroom. We received water and chocolate in the evening from the maid checking make sure everything was fine. In short, it was a very nice stay.

If you are looking for faults, the hotel could provide better/more detailed information in the room about restaurants and attractions in the immediate neighborhood (there is a small booklet, but it is mostly advertising).

All in all, you really cannot go wrong staying here. Beautiful building and extremely helpful staff.

Room Tip: Room 330 was a nice room, located facing a side street. Slightly small bathroom but otherwise very...

Dear „I2teacher“ and partner,

How nice to hear that your last minute decision brought you to our hotel and that you had a stunning and memorable time. Just a pity that you could not stay longer and get to know more of our facilities and advantages of staying right in the heart of Vienna.

Your comment about more information in the guest room about dining options and attractions in the vicinity of the hotel is well received. We do pride ourselves for our most professional concierge team that is at hand around the clock to make recommendations and assist to find just the right concert, performance or culinary treat for you in the abundance on offer in Vienna.

Hotel Imperial provides the utmost luxury and comfort in a most desirable location in Vienna. I will definitely stay in this hotel again. If Internet service was provided free of charge it would be an additional attraction.

Staying at the Hotel Imperial was such a treat and has made my stay in Vienna most memorable.
I was on my own and was a bit self conscious at first but the friendliness at the front desk on my arrival immediately made me feel at ease and most welcome. The room was just the right size to make it feel cozy but still spacious. The rooms were in good taste and felt very clean and fresh.

The breakfast buffet was abundant and one was spoilt with choice.
I found that the staff in every part of the hotel were helpful and friendly. (Ironically,I think the only unfriendly staff was the doorman. I don't think I saw him smile once throughout my 5 day stay!)

I came to Vienna to see the Opera and for a concert at the Musikverein with the Vienna Philharmonic and also a song recital in the Brahmssaal. It was so convenient to have the Opera House just a few minutes walk away and the Musikverein next door. How wonderful it was to enjoy such first class music and then come back to such luxurious surroundings. The wonderful music that I had the pleasure of experiencing would just stay with me without having to come back down to earth - all owing to this beautiful hotel.

The Hotel Imperial has made me realize what First Class really means.

Dear „JBrahms“,

How rewarding to read about your recent experience at our hotel and in Vienna. No doubt, having enjoyed these amazing concerts in some of the most unique and exceptional venues must have been the absolute highlight of your visit. Yet your abundant compliments about the service of our team was also very kind. Rest assured that we will work hard on putting smiles on every face in our organization and not rest until we have accomplished this goal.

When deciding on a hotel in Vienna for a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 children - 4 and 6 years old), there wasn't much to chose from other than the "normal" chain hotels where you could be anywhere in the world, or, you can chose somewhere like the Imperial for a truly special experience. We had an Imperial Junior suite (the green one from their adds online) and they brought in two folding beds (with proper spring mattresses). The room was opulent with a full chandelier, huge windows, silk fabric on the walls and had a full size marble bathroom and separate entrance and dressing room. It was perfect for our needs - we spent most days wandering around seeing the sights (the Kinder Museum was a favorite, we went twice) then collapsed at night. We liked that it wasn't too close to St Stephens Platz and the hubbub that comes with it. The breakfast was bountiful and catered for children's tastes as well (good mix of toast, cereal, yogurts, fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs, etc). The staff always were happy to greet us and the children and had some good suggestions for us. The only downside for us was the lack of tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms - you had to order room service for this (which meant it was an extraordinarily expensive cup of tea for two which was a bit over the top and unnecessary - surely a kettle, a couple of tea cups and tea bags aren't too much to ask and don't clash with the ambience of a wonderful room?)

For children, please note that there is an excellent children's park close by in Karlzplatz which has three spare play areas catering to different age groups: a small playground for toddlers, then a playground for around 4-8 year olds, then another one for bigger kids. Also, close by dinner choices for picky eaters include a TGIF or "Fridays" (in the same style as a Hard Rock Cafe), a McDonalds (you know you will need it at some point) and a good Vienese style pub which had good range of Vienese food.

It is worth noting that the some of the clientele in the hotel weren't probably expecting to see small children, so we just ignored some of their stares - our children were well behaved and had every right to enjoy this beautiful hotel.

We chose this to get a feel for Vienese history, since we really didn't get out at night (too exhausted after walking all day and playing with the kids), so a good trade off if you can't get to see the opera or symphony!

Dear „SDCTH“ and family,

Although we generally are not viewed as a particularly children oriented hotel, we work hard to make families with children as welcome as all our other guests. Your impressions and experience is encouraging that in many aspects we do provide the essentials needed. Your compliments about the breakfast buffet at our Café Imperial and overall services and facilities are most appreciated.

We will gladly incorporate your observations about the lack of coffee & tea making facilities into our next business review – thank you for making this suggestion.

I sincerely hope that you will be able to return to Vienna to also enjoy some of the outstanding music and cultural performances staged all year round. On a future visit we might be able to assist you with a children caretaker, whilst you can follow the recommendations of our very experienced cultural concierge.

Looking forward to welcoming you back to Vienna and in the meantime, sunny greetings from Vienna to Den Haag,
