“Fantastic museum, great audio tour”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

Was very impressed with the selection of paintings in this museum. I bought the audio guide for 4 euro, and it was completely worth it. There were recordings for almost every painting that were very useful. Enjoyed the layout of the rooms- easy to navigate different eras/countries. Hefty price of admission, but certainly recommend. Gives you a taste of the fine arts/Viennese history/European history in one museum.

“Wow”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

On our last day in Vienna we were looking for something to do and weren't quite sure what to see. We've seen a ton of museums and we weren't necessarily keen on seeing another. We decided on this museum at the last minute and we were not disappointed. This museum has the best display of ivory carvings I've ever seen - absolutely amazing to see. As we walked we were more and more impressed with each room we entered. I was pleasantly surprised to see a large display of Reuben's paintings. I've only seen a nicer display of his work at the Louvre in Paris. I highly recommend this museum as a must see in Vienna, it's easy to get to and it's not overwhelming. Sitting at the cafe and enjoying a wonderful dessert was a great way to relax while enjoying the museum.

“Amazing room”

Went to specifically see the room full of Breugels'. We were not disappointed. Place virtually empty so we had unobstructed views.

“A must...”
Reviewed 30 July 2014

We are not museum or art buffs but we decided to give this museum a try and just the building alone is unbelievable. We spent 5 hours there (including a short break at the very nice cafe inside the museum) and didn't even see and read everything. Get the combi ticket that includes the Schatzkammer at the Hofburg. You can go there the next day. Both places if you a good insight of the Habsburg era.

“A treasure house of history”
Reviewed 30 July 2014

This museum is on the scale of our British Museum in London. The house of Hapsburg was one of the first collectors and only the best would do. The collections here are amazing, especially the room full of Breughel paintings.
