“Enjoyable dinner at good price.”
Reviewed 22 December 2013 via mobile

We enjoyed dinner here at recommendation of our concierge. Service was good-attentive burnout over the top. I enjoyed the mozzarella starter (fresh!) and the white chocolate mousse dessert quite a bit. My main dish was a bit salty but good overall. Husband enjoyed his ravioli. Wine list was nice. I would return.

“Nice surprise!”
Reviewed 26 November 2013

After attending a business meeting near the stephans dom i was walking towards the opera starting too feel cold and hungry. Right after deciding to eat dinner somewhere i came across the italic signboard leading me into a seamless alley where the small but nice restaurant was hidden.

After entering I was warmly welcomed by the young and friendly waiting staff offering me a table on the window side. It was good I came early as most of the tables were already reserved.

My first thought was pretty much everything about this restaurant's atmosphere was harmonious and simply felt right.

The friendly and very well trained waiting staff was very competent on informing me what they had in the menu card and also the wine list, always observant and never irritating making me feel taken care of.

As requested the waiter's recommendation for the starters was "Foie Gras Creme Brulee" . And for the main course the speciality of the house "black noodles made of squid-oil with prawns" which name i cannot recall.
For desert the sensational "Italic Nero" which was a warm chocolate cake filled with warm liquid chocolate sauce. It was a treat for the tasting senses.

All in all i was very pleased with the italic cuisine where you could feel it was cooked and prepared with much care and love.

If you are planning to dine in a higher class restaurant and perfect ambient then i would strongly recommend you to try this one out.

“Simply Faultless”
Reviewed 23 November 2013

After looking at 10 or more reviews for restaurants near the Radisson Blu Vienna we selected The ITALIC (Johannesgasse 2) on the basis that there were far less negative comments than some others. GOOD CALL. We actually booked using their on-line system and received a confirmation email within 10 minutes. Professional welcome by waitress, pre-dinner kleine beer and a glass of wine with good selection of tasty breads. We decided to have the 3 Course Special at 33Euros. Carpaccio of Beef or Prawn Taglioni (wife enjoyed the very tasty sauce and wiped the bowl with the bread...good sign). We both had the RibEye Steak on a bed of pumpkin risotto. Really well cooked and could have cut with a spoon. Finally what was billed as simply Pannacotta but to Brits turned out more like a Creme Caramel with bisuits and fruit accompianment. Bottle of good Italian Red. Total cost Euro 110 which we thought was very good price indeed. Service throughout with attentive staff including waiter and next table. Good english. Top Notch HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

“Nice atmosphere yes, italian no!”
Reviewed 27 October 2013 via mobile

A few minutes walk from St. Stephens, there lies this quite original, little restaurant. The impression is the one you would experience in a larger train wagon, elegantly furnished. Service is efficient but the enthusiastic chef has to make up his mind what he really likes to cook!
